'Love it games' :/

There projects that ahve 100's or 10's of love its, and they are called LOVE IT GAMES. Telling people to click love it, so the project will make front page. Is that not a little... sad?

No need to be mean, I was just wondering what people think about them.

They're a bit like remix chains, the purpose of the project is only to get on the front page.

Don't you constantly ask people "Love it?" to people?  I remember you asked me that on your game Teleporter...

Re: 'Love it games' :/

Ya, I don't like when people do that... to me it seems like cheating to get on the front page. I never do it even when my projects really do deserve it. Maybe if I started doing that my projects would get on the front page.  tongue

Re: 'Love it games' :/

I'm fine with them.

I think of them as tests- to see how many users play along and loveit (my word, don't ask) the project, and how many move on because they think they're irritating.

And yes, they can get front page when they didn't "deserve" it, but it's the members who loveited them.

I don't get why people like to play the Love it games.

What is more annoying is people post projects saying I QUIT IF I DONT GET 45723 LOVEITS so they get populatity.
I'd rather they just quit if they want that many to stay.

Re: 'Love it games' :/

Yeah,I dislike those "games"...all they are are spam projects made by uncreative users in an attempt to get on the front page.I wouldn't be surprised if once they do that, they change the project into an advertisment that will then be on the front page.I don't like them because scratch is supposed to be fun,not some competitive programming convention. These and other spam projects take up 1/3 of scratch's space...it's sad to see these projects weigh down a site like scratch, where the websites goal is education and fun.

The members play because it's fun.

And yes, projects that ask you for loveits so that they won't quit are annoying, since it's an obvious publicity stunt (My 5th pet peeve >.>).

ok they aren't all spam projects. I asked everyone who commented on Santa Cannon Fire for a love-it, and that is DEFINATELY not a spam project or anything close. Everyone worked on it really hard and it deserves to be on the front page!

I mean projects that are ONLY asking for love-its and nothing more.A game or something that has "please press love-it" in the comments is fine,I mean a project that just has a picture that says "PRESS LOVE-IT NOW!!!!" with an arrow pointing at the love-it button.
