I love that piece of art and I think it looks amazing. I just don't think that it should be on the front page instead of an advanced Scratch game that took a month or several months to make.

No, because art is art. You notice on the navigation bar it says "projects" and not "art". You do realize all popular art on Scratch is anime, it is not art that is hung up in a museum. And Papi-Jump you can play and have fun with. Art you look at all day and realize you don't have a life.

Are you right-handed and left-minded? Seems so. (Boy I'm getting in trouble for posting that.......)

Art IS art, anything wrong? Games are games. Projects can contain art. Not all popular art is anime, MOST OF IT ISN'T, and a lot of art is quality( tarrasic's front page project). Many games don't work right, aren't fun, and are plain terrible(not all, though). Papi-Jump is impossible half the time, and the character isn't even really drawn by FMT. Art is expressive. It changes the way we see the world. It does that to most people, at least.

My standards for games/sims (to get a love it)
1 It must be obvious this took effort
2 I expect that the project is too the user's level, in graphics, programming, and representation.

Animation
1 must be of good length
2 should be smooth
3 it helps a lot if there is a meaning, or is funny

Art
1 Should be advanced not maki-tak, I love it tarrasic's work, she deserves front page.
2 Multiple pictures, only if the individual pictures are not as good as a single one.
3 No anime I don't like that style, I like more classic, I am okay with Manga (there is a difference.)

@tonks
The same applies to programming, If you look solely at the front page, or at least what SHOULD be there, you would find many projects that meet, or maybe surpass Tarrasic's level, and if you looked away from the front page, you would find a lot of artists who aren't nearly as talented (no offense).

scratch is a programming website, while that doesn't mean that the artist should go away, maybe instead of making art, making sprites or animations, because the sprite can be used in a project, or the animation which uses programming blocks.

Scratch is not an art site, and scratch is not equipped to be one, many, if not all front page artists use external programs, like photoshop, then put it on scratch, when it would make more sense, snce they could get more feedback, and tips, then people on scratch. Some even modify their art, so it CAN"T BE USED.

Sure, Mrs. (right?) Unproductive.

But seriously, what deserves the frontpage more. This, which is very advanced for scratch and has only been made in about 2 or 3 other projects which also have not been on the front page, or this which is currently on the front page.

You really need to learn some modesty. I made one of those, and it finds a perfect path every time, it's just very slow. Yours still gets stuck on very simple tracks.

Gosh... if you're so desperate I'll find another example. Here's my new message :3

Do you get my point though? There are some projects that really deserve front page but don't get it. While a new person to scratch got his/her first project on the front page, on top remixed, just as a hand-shake thing. Is that really that productive?

Interpretate? Interpret

And I like art, I'm just saying it doesn't belong on Scratch. I'm a pretty good artist myself, it's just that I don't have a tablet or scanner, so I'm stuck with mouse-drawn pictures, which badly represent my skill.

I like creative things with thought and time put into them, good art, and when it gives a appropriate message.

Rude? This happens to almost everybody. They spend time on a project that is fun and creative, and an actual project, and then it gets beaten by a picture.  A picture is not a project....

Art is fun and creative, and belongs on the site. What if a game took- let's say a half and hour(*cough* Papi-Jump *cough*), and a piece of actual art that took labor took 2 hours....then the art deserves the fame more.

True - but some of these people are making art in 2 seconds. I can make character art in less than 5 minutes - hell I can make one Screen-size chunk of a level in good quality (LINE 2 development). You shouldn't make reference to other people's games. Papi-Jump was not the best game ever but it is much better than 75% of the things on the front page, because it's interactive and fun.
