That, has made my day. That is the greatest thing I have heard in the 2 years of being in scratch lolz. Seriously, it makes sense.
Thank you!!! Gosh, "Imagine,Program,Share". Go to wherever it is that "Imagine,Draw,Share" is the goal.

Games/simulation:
1. Not a cheap ripoff
2. Decent quality (you'll be surprised by how many aren't)
3. Decent graphics (I'm lenient on this one, not everyone is a good artist. BUT I don't wanna see a badly scribbled stickman)
4. No hamster dance (I hate that song)
5. looks like some work was put into it (Some examples of what I don't want can be found on the most loved page 1)
Animation:
1. DECENT use of the animation program (As in would be rated at least low beginner in a animator forum)
2. No hamster dance (hate it)
3. At least slightly smooth
4. Interesting (or funny and random
)
Art:
1. Good art (No offense Doody)
2. Not a cheap ripoff
The one thing I hate the most about scratch is bad quality projects on the front page. Seriously, it's the worst part of scratch. Of all the games to come on, a slow platformer that looks like the levels were drawn in 5 seconds gets front page. And it doesn't show good programming.
I probably would have quit, flamed everyone, and never came back if I was around when Doody was front page.

I really don't expect anything on Scratch anymore. Maki-Tak's new project is just a picture...no music or anything. And it is #1 Recently Viewed. If I spent 5 years straight making a project that would be above and beyond Scratch projects, it would still be less popular then that one picture.
......Gosh, you are being rather rude.
I like creative things with thought and time put into them, good art, and when it gives a appropriate message.Rude? This happens to almost everybody. They spend time on a project that is fun and creative, and an actual project, and then it gets beaten by a picture. A picture is not a project....
Art is fun and creative, and belongs on the site. What if a game took- let's say a half and hour(*cough* Papi-Jump *cough*), and a piece of actual art that took labor took 2 hours....then the art deserves the fame more.

No, because art is art. You notice on the navigation bar it says "projects" and not "art". You do realize all popular art on Scratch is anime, it is not art that is hung up in a museum. And Papi-Jump you can play and have fun with. Art you look at all day and realize you don't have a life.

Maki does have a dA. And this is NOT just a programming site. Seriously!
Deviantart allows art, literature, animations, and GAMES. I hope you open your minds up a little.I never said this is just a programming site. But its just unfair that the percentage of popularity between the two are:
Animation: 80%
Programming: 20%
On the forums, its the other way around, but generally animation stuff is a lot more popular on the main website. It should be like this in my opinion:
Animation: 45%
Programming 55%
Also I don't really know devainart very well. So I decided to look at the site some more when you said that, and THERE ARE HARDLY ANY GAMES.There ARE though. It's not critized like art on this site.......!
Devaintart has very view games. I looked on the front page, and I saw none. I found a page with the recent game then, but I only found 4, compared to the other 24.

Art IS art, anything wrong? Games are games. Projects can contain art. Not all popular art is anime, MOST OF IT ISN'T, and a lot of art is quality( tarrasic's front page project). Many games don't work right, aren't fun, and are plain terrible(not all, though). Papi-Jump is impossible half the time, and the character isn't even really drawn by FMT. Art is [u] expressive[/]. It changes the way we see the world. It does that to most people, at least.

You're just using bad examples. Papi-Jump is different, because it's just like art, and it is terrible, while most games take long periods of time to make. Days. Sometimes Weeks. And there's very few projects that are "art" (compared to a better choice of animation) that get to the front page, which is what gets us angry. The only recent example I can mention is that picture of a wolf by that user starting with a t (I don't remember it). And just like adriangl mentioned, a picture is not a project. It's not "imagine - program - share". So it does NOT belong on this sight. I'm not trying to diss art neccecarily, but its just that it doesn't belong HERE, and it's receiving TOO MUCH ATTENTION.

BBCode Fail.
Anyway though I agree with you a couple things, apart from what adriangl said.
1) Most isn't anime
2) Many games don't work right
The thing is the games that don't get that much attention.

Yeah, but most art projects are just art. I love animations, because you can watch it...and enjoy it. Plain art that doesn't do anything is really...plain. How can you enjoy looking at something any longer than you can watch something(animation) or play something(game)?

Thank you for your wonderful and helpful comment, it makes me feel warm on the inside.
But seriously, I can admit that PapiJump was terrible. I have no idea why it got frontpaged, or why it's my most viewed project. At least my second most viewed project is better (Twisted Wizard, 500 views).
