That wasn't the message system. It was the cache. They tried to make it so more people could be on scratch at once, and they failed at it. Your message box wouldn't update until like a minute. I hated those few days they had that...I got scared when a while ago they said they were updating the site, because I thought we would experience the same thing again...

Actually they said they were cleaning out peoples message boxes. Then during the next 4 months it said 'Old messages stored until [Date]'
Also it happend in 08. And you joined in 09.
