I have an idea. How about a section on each user's page that links to a blog? That way users can share their ideas, thoughts, and observations and things like that.
People could post comments or replys as well, so the main thing I think blogs could be used for is suggestions and comments on new project ideas, or how that user overall can improve their style of "scratching," etc.
