Is your picture too big? It happened to me. Open it in a editor program (like Paint) and shrink it. Is the picture small? Then I don't know the problem.

Hey guys!
Do you know the icon for users that show a type of cat licking the screen?
Well, what if I want to change the color of his eyes and tongue?
What do I do???
And also, where do you guys get these cool icons?
HELP!!!

The file might be too big, also if you made a project and are trying to put it as an icon for something, it won't work, because a scratch file is too big to be known as an "icon".

You will need a good image editor (I suggest GIMP here, because it's free). You'll have to open the image up, and then manually edit each and every frame that composes that image.

how do i make my scratch profile picture move
What you want is called an "animated GIF" file. There are places on the internet that have them or you can make your own, with certain advanced image editors, such as GIMP.

I really believe there is a size limitation on the image file as well. Just wish I knew what that limit was! I'll see if I can find out.
I've been wondering too! One time, I finally decided to change the picture for my Recommended Projects Gallery http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/39739 , but it did not work because the picture was too big! (I'll admit it, I'm not surprised about it, the picture in full size was bigger that my computer monitor!) I wonder how big the limit is also.

Everyone, i have a problem. For some odd reason i can't change the picture on one of my galleries, and im not sure y. i click the browse button, select the picture i want, click update, and then it seems to be doing something, but when it's finished...
NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!!!
(whats up with that?)
I would appreciate help. Thanks BlueFlame.
BTW, here is my gallery: http://scratch.mit.edu/galleries/view/33922
I used to have the same problems but ive just worked it out. before you click the browse button, type in my pictures instead. then click on browse. it should then come up with all the pictures from your documents. click on the one you want then click update. if this does not work then there is something wrong with your computer.

That is the exact same problem that I have when I use scratch and try to change the picture on my galleries. It always says the file is too big and I always try to put a tiny picture on it. That is just so stupid. If anybody knows how to solve the problem, please let SOScratch know right away. I need to know so I can add it.

Hey deathshaddow, MB means megabytes. Bytes are the units used to determine the size of a file. If you are receiving a message that the file is too big, then chances are that your project is larger than 10 megabytes. If you have a computer running on Windows, you can check the file size in megabytes by right clicking the project's icon and selecting 'Properties'.
