Oh! I remember! That's how I discovered them. XD

I don't think this can happen on Macs. I've been on Scratch(sometimes without an account) for awhile and it hasn't happened.
When doing a project for my Program for Gifted Learners, the text got wiped..it was on a PC. The SIZE permanently glitched itself though. And the font.

I don't think it's the site, but the program.

What did I say about the site? :S

I am creating a project with one 480x360 costume with some text on it (it's the only costume in the entire project with text on it). Every time I edit that costume, after about 15 or 20 seconds, the text all disappears. I have restarted Scratch about 20 times, restarted my computer, reinstalled Scratch, and still this happens every time. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I think it happens 80% of the time when you are making a large project. Once i had a really long script, and it was starting to lag my computr, and BAM all the text dissapears.
Thank you for posting about this. It WOULD have been helpful if i had seen it, bhut instead i figured it all out by myself. ;P

I seem to have a less severe version of the "disappearing text" bug. Well, I'm working on a big project, and there is one text sprite that tends to disappear. The other sprites aren't affected by this bug, however. This is still very annoying; the problem still persists even when I disabled Readyboost, Superfetch, and Windows Search and used Disk Cleanup and DIsk Defragmenter, AND changed Vista's graphical effects to absolute minimum and disabled the Sidebar. AND have only Scratch open. And Well, I have 1 to 2 GB of RAM availible for Scratch to use, but the problem STILL is there. Anybody can help with an alternative solution? And Scratch Team, release a patch fix for this!! It doesn't take much effort to have Scratch NOT scale down on RAM.

O...M...G. That sounds so annoying that someone would willingly rip their own ears off.

Most of you know this already but some don't so I thought it would be useful to but this in a topic.
"to but this in a topic"?

The bug has NEVER happened to me, so how is everyone getting it all over the place!!!!
Don't say it is because I work with small projects, because Oprix Elite 6.0 is 500+ scripts! From my experience, the number of scripts doesn't matter. It is the number of costumes with text in them that does, as well as the memory of your computer.
My electro 0.2 project has over 500 scripts, 80 odd sprites, and over 1500 costumes, and its never given me any trouble. However, my considerably smaller ''FYBFI: let's screw up the squeak graphics system'' has done this twice; as it is almost all text-based backgrounds.
This happened to me while i was working on the background.
Don't say it is of like over 100 costumes, it is only 1.

And i have like 200 and something GB of memory.

I found one way the "disappearing text" bug occurs. If you open paint editor, stamp something, then stamp that thing that you just pasted, it will start the "disappearing text" bug.
I found another way; when I was working on my OS and put:
Powered by rdococ Flash 1.4
(unknown rest.)
It occurs. I was using black, I had 200 and something GB of rom, and the font was Not changed.
The only background of the stage text had dissapeard!
Even the text, Menu, Blue top bar, and the other peices of scratch dissapeard!
How can it occur?
(unknown rest.) means i forgot.

This is strange... I have version 1.4 and it still happened! Not only the text on the sprites dissapeared, but the text in the programing blocks (Move 10 steps ETC.) dissapeared too!
I couldn't even see the text that showed my saved projects! Pretty much I couldn't see ANY text at all!

This happend to me on Scratch 1.4, but it only did it when i made my game called Zombie Slayer, now i'm making another game called Zombie Slayer The Game, and it's doing it again. This only happend wile i was making the Zombie slayer games. One thing you cn do is save then quit out of scratch then open scratch up again, but it only works for a little bit.
