HELP! Key not found

Hi All,

My students have been working on Scratch programs for about five weeks and some of the projects won't open now. They either open to a blank file or they open and it says Cannot read file, may be damaged: key not found.

Re: HELP! Key not found

Occasionally, this happens to my projects, too. I do not think that there's any way of getting the files back, but I'm not 100% sure. A possible cause of this is that Scratch has been closed whilst a file is saving. This can be prevented by waiting for the oblong "window" that comes up when opening a sprite to appear after clicking "save".

As aforementioned, I am not sure if there is a way of retreiving the files, but the Scratch Team may be able to help if you contact them directly at the bottom of the page.

I hope this helps!
