Someone copied my project

I worked months on my best project (165 scripts) but some random guy just remixed it and claimed it as his own. The guy already has a love it! I was wondering if the scratch team could remove it.

Re: Someone copied my project

I hate those thieving losers. I had a similar problem with one awhile back. My "Space War 2" was stolen.

First you should try to convince the copier to delete it. Then flag it, and send a message to the Scratch Team that you want to delete it.

Hope this helps!  smile

Re: Someone copied my project

Is it a complete copy, or just a similar game based on it?

Remember the Scratch slogan is 'Imagine, Program, SHARE' so its not exactly against the rules to develop another user's project. Having said that, if the guy's taken your work and simply re-uploaded it onto his account without giving credit, then you may have a case.

It would be helpful if you included links to the projects in question (both yours and the guy who copied you), so the Scratch team can take a look at it and make a decision.

Re: Someone copied my project

Hi News-guy, sorry to hear about the copy incident. However, it is not a very good idea to publicly report projects or galleries in the forums. When you come across a project that violates the Terms of Use, please use the 'flag as inappropriate' link and remeber to state the reason why you flagged the project. Thanks, and Scratch On!  smile
