There have been lots of threads about Scratch for DS, IPhone, whatever. When they get bumped up, it creates some clutter...
They won't be made, but to clear up this forum, maybe there could be a sticky in which all of them could be discussed.
What do you think?

Yay!
Or we could just sticky my topic - but no one will read it anyway.

I think a new one would be more effective... it's for discussion, not explaining.

fooooooolisshly asking whats the basic idea of a sticky and scratch for DS and other system except ps3 is a dream as they are tooooooo slowwwwww to run it
and finally do u know what the PS3 processor can do
Offline
I know what ps3's can do. Police where I live are using 18 of them all linked together to crack passwords.

The fact that it has been suggested that much means that the idea has quite some potential.
For example, you can run Scratch projects on all Windows Mobile powered smartphones, navigators and PDAs. There is a Squeak port to the Nintendo DS so it is theoretically possible. The only think we still need to come up with is a intuitive interface for Scratch on mobile devices...

hey as much as i know DS has a very slow processor as well as the other mobiles have a slightly better processsor so i dont think scratch projects could run seemless over them
by the way ever tried to run scratch on an Alienware PC if u get a chance dont miss it runs blazing with the power of AlienWare
by the way
@what the
PS 3 is a supercomputer i think

I'm glad that there's a discussion going on, but what I wanted was a reply to the idea.

Chrischb, maybe we should not create a sticky saying that Scratch can't be made on portable devices, since, it is possible and in some cases (like Windows Mobile) it even already works.
I do admit that this infinite chain of "Scratch for Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" "Make a Scratch for my DSi" and "Scratch to PS3!!!!!" are really annoying. I created the "Scratch on Portable devices" thread months ago stop the chain but it didn't work out since it was not stickied (I could theoretically sticky my own thread but that is really selfish) and got buried by tons of new "Scratch on ..." threads. I think it is more important to think about a cool interface for a Mobile Scratch than saying it's not possible - the Scratch team already worked on a Mobile Scratch but canceled it (or sold/gave it to Samsung? but softboard is canceled anyways.). And even after the Scratch conference in 2008 the Scratch team was still talking to cellphone companies about a mobile Scratch. It's sad I haven't heard anything about it.

What do you mean? He didn't suggest that at all! What he suggested was creating a sticky to discuss in, instead of having multiple topics, all spread out.

If you think it's a good idea, sticky it. (I want it there!)
That's what Chrischb wants, anyway.

Did you read my posts carefully? I wanted a thread for discussion, not for pointing out that it might not work.

No, I wouldn't mind the selfish part... it's for good. But it might be nice to create a fresh, crisp thread to start on... which was the whole idea of this thread.

I usually do But I made a mistake.
Now I see it says
They won't be made, but to clear up this forum, maybe there could be a sticky in which all of them could be discussed.
I am sorry for my misinterpretation.
For the sticky part, I'll see.

Sticky it please! Don't feel selfish... and you get to add to your sticky count.

As for the sticky, it's your choice.

As with all stickies, I will first discuss it with the other moderators. And this problem has been around for like a year so that one day won't make a difference
