a few ?'s:
does this make scratch run as if it where written in flash (it can handle say 20-50 sprites at one time)?
would it be possible to post projects on something like newgrounds and it would run through the flash player?
a suggestion for this is to write something like this in C++ or Java which is reaching boundaries of where we can use 10,000 sprites at once, which would mean nobody would ever have to complain about scratch's running speed EVER again (unless there are some dopes who would find it fun to make it run 20,000 sprites and make a complaint)
I haven't downloaded it yet, and I won't until it's finished, but I'll be happy to know that I can now make games that will run at much more respectable speeds, can't wait for it to be done, I'll be able to use all the scripting techniques I've had to put to shame because they would use too much processing power
Q1: It seems to go slower actually.
Q2: I don't think you will be able to post your scratch flashes. The program is a player not a scratch project itself. To post scratch flashes on other sites you would need the game to be contained in the flash and not a separate file.
Honestly, I don't really have a problem with the speed of the scratch program itself. I think that it is fast enough for what it was designed to do. If there is anything that is holding scratch back its the lack of commands and not the power of the language. Scratch, as a begginer's tool is fine where its at right now in my opinion.
If you really want more power that I reccomend trying flash AS. The scratch user newareagle picked it up fairly easily.

Does it still work? I'm leaving the default URL and clicking on Open, but nothing happens. So I clicked on Go: the word Go shows up in the white area below, but this is it. I tried with differents PC (IE6 and IE7) with the same result. Please! I would love to see how this work!

This topic is not stickied anymore, because it isn't being used frequently anymore.
But, of course, If you still want to share something that has to do with the subject, feel free to post!
It's sad that it is unfinished - it could have been such a cool thing! So, if you still want to work on it (the source code is released I think), it would be wonderful!
Thank you and... Scratch on!

I would like to help with this... But, are there any good free flash editors out there? I am afraid I cannot afford adobe flash.

Hi All,
The NowUR link is dead (someone 'stole' that FQDN), but the google code link is still fine:
* http://code.google.com/p/scratchonflash/
and I updated the URL on that page to point to the ec2 instance that has a running version.
Unfortunately, Flash has become more and more 'secure' over this time period, so the demo which loads from 'scratch.mit.edu' by default won't work unless there is a 'crossdomain.xml' at the root of the scratch server. If anyone can make that happen, that would be great :-) But otherwise, put the 'sb' file somewhere you can access it and add the crossdomain.xml there too.
For example, entering:
* http://ec2-75-101-154-83.compute-1.amazonaws.com/260752.sb
into the demo should work [however ugly that URL is... sorry about that].
I can't start working on this project again, but I apologize for not making the link work better since demoing is definitely useful before someone works with the code.

That is awesome! to bad we can't run our own projects on it... but its pretty cool, and i like how it has a log.
