The pages that showed the top viewed, loved and remixed projects ever are not linked from the home page anymore for several reasons. The first and most important one is that they slowed down the server. Since they try to present the full ~600,000 projects, they end up using up a lot of processing power for our database server. Also, realistically speaking, most people would not really visit every single page of projects there. One option would have been to limit the number of available pages but the database would still have to be queried as a whole to calculate the positions.
But then there is also another reason. Those pages almost never changed. The popular projects just keep getting more attention and new ones would rarely come up to the top. The old pages Top Loved, Top Viewed and Top Remixed pages will still work but they will no longer be linked from our home page so they have less visibility.
I think the new Most Loved, Most Viewed and Most Remixed pages are more interesting because they will change more often. They only display recent projects the community finds interesting. I would invite you to check these new pages more often since they will bring more attention to newer projects.
This change took place on Dec 11, 2009.

Ooh, I happened to see this.
You have a point that the only projects that get noticed or the ones at the top. The problem is that some people won't know what projects made records...
Now that I see your reasoning, I agree.
Note: Check the text before the "Most Remixed" link.

Thanks. I fixed my typo. If people really want to know what projects are the most something they can still check the old pages (I put the links on my post).

Oops, I misunderstood your post.
Users shall know the records!
That inspires me to make a book of Guinness Scratch Records... but I think it's been done before.

That's very good reasoning about the decision.
Maybe now we'll get more top viewed/loved/remixed projects, since people won't be focusing on the very top projects anymore.

There's always more records you can report. Maybe some silly/funny ones

Agg, I liked the old ones. They always inspired me to think up of a project that will do better than them. At least, top loved did. Top viewed was never accesible...
I get why you don't want these links on the front page, but why did you take them off the projects section as well? Seems like the only way to get there is by your links.

Not a completely bad change. Atleast they're both available.

Whatever happened to "Surprise projects"?

I like this better. Thanks!
I think the same way too. What now reaches the front-page better represents what scratch is about. I especially agree with this because of the issue when it comes to if something is appropriate or not. Great decision.

O_O Help! Where did the newest ever page go? How will we find the 1,000,000th project?

I wasn't here, but I wish that I was. Then, art won't be ruling scratch.

Has that ever actually been a section. I don't think so. I've been here since March 09 on my main account Dawnlight. Where have you seen that section illusionist?

Of course it exists! How else could I have possibly found the 100,000, 300,000 400,000 500,000 (etc.) projects?
I remember the day I spent an hour searching ON the newest ever page!
And I found them.

Sorry. I never actually went to that page. I prefer to look on the home-page anyway. I hope you find what you were looking for.

But now I don't know if my projects has ever been top loved or top viewed. How about on a user page, beside the project name, there can be 3 circles. If that project has been featured, a green circle appears and when you hover over it, it shows what date(s) it was featured. Same for top viewed and top loved, only with different color circle.

my project, 'Add Yourself Going On Scratch OR Causing General Mayhem In The Computeer Lab' is not on top remixed, with 11 remixes, but a remix of it by samid11 is, with 3. Is it because it's not recent enough? what's the definition of 'recent'?
