Re: Emerald

just a bit lol.

my pc has no specific brand. The parts were all bought separately.

Ergo, I had to put the processor into the motherboard manually. Slightly stressful.
I want an 8 core pc, but that's not likely.

Re: Emerald

I have unlimited bandwidth, and my dads set up a hardwired LAN. But i dont think id be allowed to host. Even though my dad has got 3 pcs, and i have my own, and my mum has hers. But... i dont think id be allowed.

I have to turn my computer off at night because of 2 reasons,
1. The speakers are likely to burst into flames since they need a transformer
2. Its noisey-ish

Re: Emerald

Why? If you have a spare computer, or you may leave it up on 95% monthly uptime basis, just get WAMPServer (windows) or configure MySQL, Apache and PHP5 yourself (php5 is important), and leave the rest to me.... Of yourse you can also set up IIS (Windows), so we can use my C#.NET knowledge...

Re: Emerald

sadly... i would love to help, but i don't have the space, money and time to do that.
Put up a little notice on the first page asking for someone with enough space, time and money for a server?

Re: Emerald

meh. I personally liked the pentium 4's better.

some had like, 4.0ghz speed.

even though they were single core. but that's what made them so much cooler

I didn't build this computer, i inherited it from my sister, i really want to upgrade the memory and add a new hard drive, and maybe get some small/medium sized portable hard drives as well to keep large groups of related files.

You hear about the 27 core one thats a prototype and your supposed to be able to have a different operating system on each core.

Re: Emerald

I've heard about 40 (or 64) core processor, which'd make it possible for computers to see us... quite creepy...

Re: Emerald

My computer has little RAM and I constanly got an error message because of it when playing games but did I solve that problem. I now have 5 gigabytes of vitual ram and that doesn't include real RAM. Strange how vitual ram fixed the problem though.

However much RAM you have I don't think you have less than me. I have 512 MB. I also have a 697 MHZ Single Core computer that is running XP. I wonder why I am not complaining?

My computer is at least 10 years old because when I got it it came with Windows 95. My computer is an old Compaq Presario.
