If he put those options there, it means that they're possible! Why would he put them there if the Scratch Team couldn't do them?

No, I said it's not that hard to change it. I like options 1 and 3.

That was a joke, cocoanut!  tongue

It looks like people want 1 (except for someone who chose 1 and 3). Yay!  big_smile

B is for Bringing Back,
U for Underneath,
M is for Moving,
P is for Posting!

That was silly.  tongue

If this was discussed and seemed near action, why isn't it in action yet?

Paddle, you asked for opinions... there are plenty now. Can there be a decision yet?

Re: Changing the registration date in the forums to when you did join.

I just thought of an idea that doesn't matter about the opinions: You can choose what date you want! (Yes, for the date you first visited it would say First visit of forums:).

EDIT: Argh, it looks slightly shrunken! Ah, well... click on the picture for the good image, I suppose.

Well, some people (like me), don't.  tongue

Honestly, isn't someone going to say anything about my new idea?

Windows Paint, not anything fancy.  tongue  I used my signature for the text, and for the blue text, I used GIMP to find the right hexadecimal color.  big_smile  I got the checkmark stuff from a different spot in the display area.

To put it simply: I edited it. Obvious.  lol

Well... does anyone like the idea?  hmm

Wow, nice image editing!  I do like the idea as it gives the user the most flexibility.  If people think that's the way to go I'll write up a ticket and send it off to the development team...after that it's up to them to decide if and when it should happen.

Thanks.  smile

Now, everyone post your opinions! Of course, it doesn't really matter, as everyone seemed to like the date that they registered, so either way they get their date.
Hey... then we can just go with the way where you choose your date! No... let's be serious.  tongue

Well... no one posted their opinions (except Paddle, of course). I am bumping it up for that reason, along with another thing - having it say registered is a lie, since that's not when we registered.

Oh, Paddle, can you please tell me if you send the ticket?  smile

Actually, the "Registered" date  is really when your account was created.

I had to confirm this, so I used my friend's account from when he was still using Scratch, and found his first and only post in the forums.

Sure enough, his register date was 2007-09-28 even though the post was made on 2008-05-23.

Hope that helps  big_smile

That only means he visited the forum to see what it was before you tried our 'experiment'. 'Registered' doesn't show the date of your first post, but the first time you looked at the forums.

Thanks for your interest.  I can see where the label "Registered" might be confused with the date you joined Scratch...but if you understand that the Forums are a separate program from Scratch and that the first time you visit the forums, you are automatically registered in them, then the confusion goes away.

Probably something could be done to clear up the confusion...what would be best?

1. to put the Scratch registration date there
2. to make it the date you first posted
3. to keep it the date of first visit but change the description
4. other

Personally, I don't really see the need to make any change at all...it seems pretty minor to me.

But it's really not when you register the forums, because you usually fill out a form to register. Maybe changing it to 'First forum visit: mm/dd/yy(dd/mm/y whatever it is)' would help.  smile
