Well i use A vivid types of sprites and thats why i thought that if this is scratch i should share some of my secrets so here are they THIS
is a tutorial on how to get Cool Sprites by fanofcena
we will divide this tutor in 4 parts
1. Getting them of net : well u can get numerous free sprite sheets on the internet prefer google image search with maximum safety though.but its kinda slow way to cut every sprite and wait..
2. UnMugening them : Mugen has opensource projects of fighters though so u can get a mugen character file from the internet and extract its sprites for that you will use 2 softwares first will be the Mugen Editing Ensemble its one of the best editors if u wanna go MUGEN , install it and open the .def file from the MUGEN characters extraction directory then in the main window just open the sprite editor (its the place where u see sprites)its shown by a charactor symbol on the menu bar
then on the central upper Part u will find save all pcxs option (HOVER MOUSE on each icon to get this first time its the second last button though). Then save the files in a folder remember there will be numerous files with awesome mugen characters like GOKU HD
then use an image converter to convert those .pcxs to .gifs (cause they are better) then open the directory where u have saved these images as .gif sort the images u want to import and drag and drop into scratch with the sprite u want also there is a remove background by assigning a transparent color that saves a lot of time
3. Ripping them : if u have an open source game or animation software and want to render graphics with ease then do this.
Download Animget and Run the .exe then open the game (for instance OpenArena)
start from where u want to rip then press Alt+tab in wi ndows in the observe list click start.
It will save all the things going on the screen when done go to animget by doing the same Alt+tab trick then save these images it will save it in a folder called shots then use the convertor to get awesome graphics
NOTES>> Use a good PC for this minimum 1gb ram,
Go to a white or single colour background if u are ripping a character for easy editing.
4. Rendering : the best way is to render them using softwares like google skectup(a miracle for beginners), or Blender
