AngelEyra brings a good point about gender. Thousands of Scratchers are females but for some reason some Scratch members tend to assume everyone is male!
Let's not make any assumptions about age, gender or any other demographics. In this community you are defined by the projects you create and the comments you post.

I like the idea about changing "Friends" to "Favorite Scratchers". I found the whole friends thing to be very confusing when I first started Scratching. Using the term "Favorite Scratchers" makes the concept much clearer.

BUT!!!! some of us have scratchers on there friends list because they are there friends that they met on scratch or in person. You have to remember that.

So maybe they are your favorite scratchers as well.

The problem with "Friends" as the name for the list is that friendship is usually a reciprocal relationship---that is, if A is friends with B, then B is friends with A. The list on the My Stuff page does not have this symmetry. I can put people on my list of Favorite Scratchers, without them putting me on theirs.

Great explanation!

Right now, favorites and love-it are somewhat underused, so there does not seem to be a big need for an even rarer label.

thats a really good explination. I guess if your friend is so called "favorite scratcher" he/she would still be your friend anyway.

I completely agree with him... it's ambiguous!
Yes, and I'm a girl...

¡I also agree! "Friends" should stay the way it is...

Why not search for projects only from one person?
Friends should be favorite scratchers-I'm a boy.

I'd like to see the "my stuff" page simplified, with just a short list of pointers to other pages:
My projects
My galleries
messages about new comments
Favorite scratchers
Favorite projects
Favorite galleries
Fans (people who listed me as a favorite scratcher)
Galleries my projects are in
I hate going to someone's page to check their projects and having to wait 10 minutes for all the "friends" icons to load! The "My Stuff" page should have only one picture on it: the icon for the user.
One thing that would have to be fixed is the control over who who can submit to a gallery. That would have to be allow a different list of users for each gallery, rather than "my friends".

My "my stuff" page takes ages to scroll to the bottom when I want to get to the galleries... I think it would be a good idea if the friends were on a seperate page, just because it takes ages to scroll through them all to reach the galleries. Another idea is that you can maybe order the friends and galleries, I visit some of my friend's pages more often than others... but it can take me a while to find them in the long list. I like the idea of an "about me" box too ^-^.

I think that it would be cool to call friends "brotha's and sistas from nutha motha's who create cool scratch projects and whose work I admire and maybe make good comments on my projects that are nice and make my day (and maybe year) nice and good and happy."
Was that tooooooo looooooong?????
lol!!!

Maybe to solve the "friends" vs. "favorite scratchers" problem, when you added someone to your list, there would be two check boxes: one for friends, and one for favorite scratchers. Check the one for friends and they would be asked if they would like to be your friend. If they accept then you would be their friend and they would be your friend. They would be added to your friends list and you to theirs. The favorite scratcher check box would simply add them to a separate list labeled "Favorite Scratchers".
I'm not sure if this would work, but to me it sounds like a reasonable idea.

users on my friends list are my friends, and not my favorite scratchers.

Well, I think you should be able to say what gender you are. That would take away lots of confusion. And like Archmage said, a list with games you are working on. You should also be able to change the background colours. Also, a great feature of my own would be poll. This way you can get feedback and suggestions about your games without looking at 20 different suggestions. You see what people want more.

For the friends thing maybe it could just be called "Scratch friends".

There could be this thing where (in your profile) below your avatar there is a signature that can be edited and seen by the Scratch community.
E.g.
