What makes you pick curators? Does it depend on what they fav?

Hi there, I'm Sparks. I've been scratching for about two years, give or take and I would be very interested in being a Scratch Curator. I believe that I have posted many helpful, constructive comments on people's projects, suggesting improvements and giving positive support. I would choose projects for the curator spot based on the ingenuity of their construction, be it an ingenious way of solving a problem, doing something that people had long thought impossible with scratch (such as Gale 3D) or a way of turning a mathematical formulae into an attractive pattern. Certainly, these are the things that I look for myself before I click "love it". I would also choose projects from people who really go the extra mile, such as Rotation, a 16 year old scratcher from Bern, Switzerland who actually has both German and English language selection in his projects. I recently formed a loose alliance with him due to the fact I was born in Switzerland, and now proof-read his english translations for him.
I would really enjoy the role of Curator, as I have spotted so many excellent projects out there that really push at the limits of Scratch and deserve to be seen by the community.
Hope I make it, let me know what's going on.

This is a great idea! I'd love to be a curator! I would mostly pick unknown projects, educational projects, and simple games that teach you how to use scratch. If you you have no time to respond to this comment, it's fine with me, but please just take a little time to look at my projects! Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Isometric

I would really like to become a scratch curator, and if I did, I would choose projects that have not been viewed much, but are rather clever or well made. This would be good, because 'Scratchers' that have put lots of work into a project, they deserve it to have lots of views.

*Asks again ^^*

I would love to have a chance at being a curator. I think it'd be a great oppurtunity for unknown Scratchers to get recognized for their hard work. Alot of good artists, game creators, and animators have their projects go unnoticed, and since I like to go to these Scratchers' projects, I'd love to be able to show Scratch some new ideas and creations! I would like to show a variety of projects, from simulations to art, to show Scratch's different Scratchers and their different interests.

I want to do this. I will post tutorials and simulations

Im quite interested in being a curator. I want to be a curator not because of any popularity perks, but because I know exactly how frustrating it is to create an incredible project, and then have absolutely nobody see it (a common occurrence for me.)
I enjoy well made projects with good spelling and grammar, and that make me want to keep playing. Admittedly, I do have a few less projects than a lot of major players in the scratch community, but they are, for the most part, quite high quality, and I have many more in the works.
I sincerely hope I am considered as a scratch curator. Thanks for reading my post.

Lots of Scratchers have told us they want to show their favorite projects on the Scratch homepage. So we created a new role called "Scratch curator."
You can find more information here:

If you'd like to become a curator, reply to this forum thread. Tell us the kind of projects you'd like to show, and why you want to show them. We'll choose curators that represent the diversity of the Scratch Community - girls, boys, gamers, storytellers, animators - Scratchers of all kinds! We especially like to choose Scratchers who have been helpful and contributing members of the Scratch community.
I'd be really happy to be a curator! I LOVE scratch! I actually recently had a dream where there was a scratch day where I live and I met a bunch of moderators and cool scratchers like Clov and TheExplodingCheez!

Hey, earlier I said I would love to be the scratch curator, but I probably wasn't picked because I said I have seen many awsome GAMES that no one has viewed. I ment PROJECTS.
Yeah News-guy has been an AWESOME under-appreciated scratcher and it would be amazing to see his reviews on who's games rock!

This curator idea sounds great. Y`know, adding projects that are by people that aren`t all that well known.
Speaking of people that aren`t well known, whatever happened to the comment sections on my projects? lol

I know I have asked once before, but I think being a curator would be a really good experience for me. It would help me see the better side of every project, and I know a lot of people want to be on the front page. I would only choose projects that are examples of exceptional programming and art, and that the Scratch community as a whole could value from seeing. Thank you for considering me, and please reply! I would like to know why I don't become the curator (if I don't) so I can improve myself and possible apply again later. Thank you, and also congratulations to sparks!

I have been on scratch since it was created in 2007 and have made many great projects but nobody sees them. I really would like to play a good role in scratch and be a curator, maybe that would get me a bit of recognition. I would pick some of my favorite projects, the ones that are created by people like me who make great stuff but aren't recognized.

But isn't the object to create attention for those who you select, rather than yourself?

That's very considerate, but what if Magnie doesn't want to be the curator?
