What kind of game is the Fire Emblem
I want to make a game where you play as multiple characters. Like in the Fire Emblem games and Shining Force(really old). What kind of game is that? Its kinda like you have pieces and your opponent has pieces but you take turns and each turn you have the choice to move and/or attack with EACH character before the end phase. And instead of the background being a checkerboard its like a landscape.

That is considered RPG. I enjoy those games, but it would be hard to make in Scratch. If you would like to start a collab for it I would be glad to help.

The Fire Emblem games are Tactical RPGs or Strategy RPGs (RPG being short for Role-Playing Game). But your description of multiple teams taking turns to move units and attack each other could apply to any TBS, or Turn-Based Strategy, like Advance Wars or Civilization (if you like Fire Emblem, check out both those series. They both have excellent games out on the DS). Hope that helps.
