It's when you first visited the forums. It's not when you joined Scratch. The dates are all messed up, so don't trust it.
My suggestion for that to be fixed

I joined on the first day I think. I think forums are a big part of a community so I Join them first.

What the heck? It used to say I joined Dec 11,2008, now it says I joined a different date!

To find out when you really joined:
If you shared a project approximately the day you joined, go to the project and check how long ago it was shared. You can work it out from there.

No, actually, considering that after a year, the days don't show up. For example, my first project was shared "2 years, 5 months ago." It doesn't tell how many days ago.
