Let's all sing the rhyming song,
the rhyming song,
the rhyming song,

Let's all sing and rhyme together,

The rhyming song.

Re: Silver Oranges?!

bucks and enough don't rhyme, now i see
into the jar i will add dollars, three

a few of my rhymes follow this scheme:
the ending doesn't match, but the sound makes it seem

for bucks and enough both have that same sound
so i did not notice it when i was checking around

coming up with rhymes requires you times three
to read it over before posting publicly

for i started last friday, i will count it next week
let's hope the jar doesn't fill up, so to speak

by the way, the oneliners i say
don't have to rhyme because only two lines may
so if you come across a line that counts one
don't report it here, for the jar will get none

Re: Silver Oranges?!

It's a funny idea to talk in rhyme,
How do you do it all of the time?
Do you do it only when on the Internet,
Or just everywhere whenever there's a rhyme to get?
That last line was really bad,
I should've edited it a tad.
Anyway,
This rhyme thing you do every day...
I get the idea, but why is it called that?
'Silver Oranges', I mean... oh, drat...
I'm saying drat 'cause I have to go
And I guess I'll see you later, and one more thing, also...
Homework stinks...
But that's what most everyone thinks.
Now bye
*sigh*

I added the homework thing because thats WHY I gotta go.

Silver and oranges are the only words in english that don't rhyme with another word.

At least that's what my fun facts in my agenda say.

And the only word in English that ends with "mt" is "dreamt". But my spell-check doesn't even recognize it! My spell check is also very stupid when it comes to "colour" and "behaviour".

Re: Silver Oranges?!

There is something that rhymes with orange,
As said above, DOOR HINGE.
And as for silver we could make up a word
And whoever can find a word that rhymes with "ruling" is a rhyming lord

And i declare this thread derailed.

Re: Silver Oranges?!

If this has become a rhyming contest,
then winning it has become my quest.
Let's see some more rhyme and your best limerick,
Better be good, or it will be over quite quick.

Re: Silver Oranges?!

Oh I wasn't thinking about "ruling"
I guess also there is "carpooling"
But whoever can rhyme to the word "sharpener" I'd like to see
Because a rhyme to find for that could happen only near impossibly

Re: Silver Oranges?!

keiki J, please say it aloud
those words do rhyme, and it makes me proud

rhyming every day, i don't willingly do
i speak in rhymes because of treacherous voodoo

a rhyming contest, is that what you say?
how foolish of you, dj, bring it on any day.

please await my arrival, for i'll be back soon
possibly the day after tommorow, an hour after noon

we shall have our challenge, and if you succeed
i shall declare you the king, with accompanied deed
but if you fail, as you most likely will do,
you'll end up as my slave, for the next week or two.
if you agree to this little match
send word tommorow, and i'll await you on scratch.

Re: Silver Oranges?!

When I was on scratch (on a forum),
I thought, "Let me post just one more... um...
I will see what I can do,
This rhyming stuff is not very new.
I'm getting quite good at this,
I'm glad this post I didn't miss."
I typed for a while,
And I started to smile.
By the time I had LOLd,
The topic was old.
I left in a hurry,
My cats in a flurry,
And what do you know?
There was snow!

(I live in California. Someone think of a rhyme for that.)

Re: Silver Oranges?!

the rhymings were off, the words unappealing
to truly rhyme well, you must do it with feeling

a rhyme for california? i'm afraid i don't know
because i'm not a master and i don't do this for show

as i explained before, i guess i'll do it again
i was inside a book store, and suddenly then

a strange man wearing a mask came up to me
he asked if his pendant i could see.

when i told him no, he uttered a curse
my rhyming condition created and only getting worse

he laughed in my face, though i couldn't reply
for if i uttered non rhymes, it would be a soundless cry

so i must look before i lose my mind
this stranged masked man, i must find.

[though i can type in non-rhymes also, but i need to practise until my situation lightens]

Re: Silver Oranges?!

It's just rhyming couplets, the true thing is to hide another meaning under similes, even in the cross-rhymes, like war poets do. Try it. Wilfred Owen - Dulce Et Decorum Est. UK Yr9 does it. Rite nao.

Wickimen challenges me to rhyme "Sharpener"
But I do know that it rhymes with "Carpenter"
So who won the challenge, I see?
I'm pretty sure that person was "Me".  smile
