I have been programming iPhone applications and putting them on the app store, and it is taking up way to much of my time. I am only going to make/finish one more project and then I am leaving Scratch. Scratch has been good to me, but it is time to move on. I will try to finish my game by Christmas if I can.

Can you tell me WHERE you get the program that designs iPhone apps and how much it costs? I've looked EVERYWHERE. (maybe its because I'm not using a Mac...)

You have to have a Mac.

Shoot, I expected that. Oh well. Well, good luck in the app biz after you've left Scratch. Unless you decide to stay?

Does this mean no more Olympics? I could take over if you want.
Good luck with the iPhone.

@ technoman, this is fine with dg games as we want to expand and your still in even if your not on scratch
also can dg games keep the "rights" (i love al of these professional terms haha) to the scratch olympics so that we can continue to do it for you.
yes i know illusionist asked first, but as he is IN dg games well then maybe he could be in charge of it.

Have you made any money from your iphone apps?

hes only released one so im guessing no for now, also because people can just download it illegally too its way more difficult to earn money. i would suggest putting something out for free first, getting it famous and then putting out a new version that is paid for, like what tap tap and jelly car did. they probably made the most.

It is good that you make your own apps, but don't leave scratch. Its a good community. We need a member like you.
I probably won't leave forever, meaning that I just won't make projects, just check my messages and post on the forums.

Well I wish you good luck on the iPhone apps/games! But don't be selfish; instead just make them free

I don't think it's selfish to want to make money for the programs you write. You gotta make a living some how

It isn't being selfish buy selling them. Let me give you some facts. The developer program that allows you to submit apps costs $99. A domain name and hosting costs around $80- $200 or $300. When you make the apps you need to make the amount that you spent so you don't lose money.

If you have a Mac, how do you obtain the iPhone apps-making program?

Offline
That's really cool that you make you're own iphone apps. I hope to get to that level someday. But, for now: 1. I stay on scratch and continue making projects 2. I wish I had more money so I could get a Mac and an itouch. 3.Go deeper into scratch programming (You just inspired me to try much harder to make awesome games and animations so I could one day get to you're level.) Also, thank you for leaving scratch in a more formal way than the people that just make projects saying "I QUIT. I HATE SCRATCH." If you are going to leave, you just have shown the correct way.

illusionist what about dg games, i commented already above in this forum post lol.

Awsome. I have wanted to make Iphone apps, but I have a PC. So, I can't. Good luck with it though. I suggest making games for 99 cents that use the leaning feature. It seems that they are the most popular.
Good luck!
