Um, Hi, I have Wii!

with HBC(homebrew channel) you can download things to sd card
if anyone(i don't know of scratch is open-source)port this to the wii with HBC you can search and download things and play them
java=open source
developer+java+scratch(if open source)=scratch wii
i don't now if the code.sb is encrypted or plain but this can(all the things can!!)

i had the same idea! what you could do also is have it convert the code.sb file to a code.exe file or code.dol file. it would work then!

the wii's processor is a 3.0 ghz ibm broadway. PowerPC architecture. The wii, the wii OS is a very, very heavily modified linux kernal. PowerPC Mac OSX was made until around 2007. which means, that the JVM must have a way to go on a powerpc linux, since Mac is also heavily modified linux.

In all probability, there is no way for you to use the JVM on the wii because, unless you want a mod chip, there is no way of getting into the inner workings of the wii and installing a PowerPC Linux on the wii, and even if you did, the wiimote would take time because there are no drivers, so you would be limited to whatever peripherals you could plug into the USB ports. which would have to be incredibly generic USB devices, e.g. a usb keyboard, without many bells and whistles, and a three button usb mouse.

So, unless you plan to do install a mod chip and install Linux that may not even work, and doesn't give you access to the wiimote, there is no chance of having scratch VM on the wii.

Why, no! It's a horrible idea! It's practically impossible!

Since people don't seem to notice it, here's a link to my topic Why Scratch won't be made for Xbox, Playstation, Wii, iPhone, iTouch, etc. To be honest, that should be stickied, because Scratch for other devices isn't going to happen.

You are wrong, it wouldn't be easy to make the wii support java. The odds for a wii version of scratch are very, very slim.

i agree, thats why it should be a wiiware title, or homebrew application.

they could make you search in just ONE channel,thats free,BTW all channels are free.       bye!
