I think alot of people are being put of scratch, because they think you can only be half good at it if your smart. Well i think they're wrong.
I mean, I fail at my subjects. I suck at maths. But that doesn't stop me from trying. I know im not the best scratcher, and i never will be. But i still have fun.
What do you think?

Scratch is dead easy, any one can do it. Using any other programming language is much more difficult.

I agree. You don't have a syntax to remember with scratch (and everything is all cooolourful) so it's very easy to code a good application. I'd say text-based programming languages take longer to learn to compared to scratch because of this.

I agree, people don't realize that to get good at Scratch you must learn, download, remix, and share information.
I also agree that this message should be said in a different language.

Please do not spam on the forums. Thank you, and Scratch On!
If you hate people who always say that, look at this thread. We all hate it, so just go there and support lol.

... and I disagree, in some circumstances, Scratch is not that easy. I'm into .NET programming now (Visual C#), and it's like "oh my, did I really make a speech synthesiser on this?" when I come back to Scratch after some time. Sure it's easy for people who are total beginners in programming. But not everyone wants to actually program - and, dunno why, they get more views... (u know who i'm talkin' 'bout)

Excellently stated.
Rephrased in my voice
... and I disagree, in some circumstances, Scratch is not that easy. I'm into "real" programming now (Visual C# and Python), Sure it's easy for people who are total beginners in programming that are programming simple things, it gets harder when you start doing things like programming a scroller with perfect gravity, perfect platforms, and a way to mask the "bounce" of the character... (Not that I actually did that, myself ^___^) But not everyone wants to actually program - and, dunno why, they get more views... (u know who i'm talkin' 'bout - the warrior cat thing)

When compared to every other method of computer programming it is easy. Oh course there are somethings that take more knowledge to make but to make programs that scratch was designed for is easy.

Scratch helps you understand how things work. I recently started coding in flash - knew what I wanted to do and how but couldn't work it out in flash. Every coding language is different - and the way things work says the same. It's just that the complexity of the language differs.

I learned everything I know about Scratch today from downloading and trying to understand projects.
