Messed up look for mouse x and y position.

In my projects, I often discover that the mouse x and y thing below the screen is messed up. I don't really know how to explain, so:

What it should be like:

What it shouldn't be like:

I don't know exactly how it happens, but let's review it.

1. I open the project. It's all right; no bug.
2. To get it messed up, I repeatedly press Enter (it's like using the green flag) while waving my mouse around the x and y thing. Sometimes I go into presentation mode. Anyway, after a while it messes up.

It only seems to happen with large (you know, lots of sprites and plenty of scripts) and advanced (full of large scripts). In other words, it doesn't seem to happen with small projects.

I don't think it's the extra stuff I do to get the bug... I think it's moving the cursor around the x and y position thing.

Has anyone ever gotten this?

I've seen it once, but It didn't really occur to me that this was a bug.

Perhaps it has something to do with memory as it only happens in larger projects?

I don't know... one of the projects that I got the bug on is only 814 kilobytes... when the maximum for projects online is 10,000 kilobytes.

Memory isn't the same as how many kilobytes, however.

Strange bug...no I don't recall seeing that one before...but I'm going to be watching for it now.  Thanks for the warning  smile

Is it very repeatable ?  Do you have a particular project and sequence of moves that always makes the bug appear?  I hope so - bugs that are repeatable are much easier to fix.

I've never had this from what I remember, but I can't be sure - I still think I haven't had it.

Odd, though. It looks like a typical type of "highlight" error, but it has nothing to do with highlighting.  tongue

I wouldn't call it repeatable, but I can get it to happen. I repeatly press Enter (Enter is the green flag, I use it as a shortcut), sometimes go into presentation mode and out, and sometimes click. I'm quite sure it'd just happen if I worked on my project - I'll test it.

Okay. I added a bit to a script, then went into presentation mode, then exited, then tested my program and when I moved my mouse the bug happened.

I don't think it's using presentation mode though. I think the bug mainly happens when the mouse goes over the x and y thing... or something like that.

This is fixable by a simple action.

Happens with xtremeVM Hotspot. Can't upload it due to Scratch's server upgrade
