Strangely, when you quote a post that contains an image, the quote replaces all IMG tags to URL tags. Why is this?

For example:

I post this code:

Code:

[img]http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs51/i/2009/299/1/1/Guitar_Rock_by_cocoanutv.jpg[/img]

Which produces this output:

When I try to quote this, the code will change to this:

Quoting is basicly putting code around the text but it shows up as quote not code so thats why it doesn't show the image...i think tongue lol

Nununu. I think you misunderstand. Unless I'm the one who misunderstands.
It changes the [img]to a [url]and the[/img] to a[/url].

If I change the [url]that was previously an [img] into an [img] again, then it will work, strangely.

Say you're commenting on the image. You don't want the reader to have to scroll up or click on the linky. So you want it to appear.

Say you're commenting on the image. You don't want the reader to have to scroll up or click on the linky. So you want it to appear.

Well then the reader is lazy.....if he can't scroll up to see a pic then i dunno...

I'm pretty sure it's a setting they have turned on, it isn't that bad. In a multi image post, it's kind of annoying if you quote all the images.

I'm pretty sure it always does it. The times it doesn't do it, is the times when people change it. It purposely does it, so the forum doesn't take up too much space.

It always happens, except you can change the image-location to [img]image-location[/img], so that it still displays the image.

This acually happens to all forums because I was on the McLeod Gaming forums and Cleod9 quoted on an image and it turned into [IMG].
