The "Subscribe" feature, Q and A

I bet some of you Scratch must be asking this question:
What really is the subscribe feature?
Well here is your answer(I'll try to add more screenshots later, this is from what I know, they are in categories)

Q: What really is subscribing?
A: Subscribing to a users projects, is like subcribing to a magazine. To subcribe to it, and you'll get the new projects the user has newly created, like how you get the new magazine.

Q: Great now I know what subcribing is, but how do I subscribe?
A: You subscribe by going to the user's page(the user of the projects you want to subscribe to), and the click button on the top left(above the list of projects, and where you would find the "delete selected projects" button). The button looks something like this:
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2109/subscribe.jpg

Q: I subscribed to the user's projects, I wonder how it works?
A: The subscribing feature uses RSS feeds.

Q: I want to check the projects, how do I?
A: Go to the "favourites" section on the internet browser, it looks like a star. Then go to the second tab which says "feeds". Then click the feed you saved it as, it'll take you a scratch page with the lastest projects that user has made.

Re: The "Subscribe" feature, Q and A

This should be moved to FAQs. But I tried answer 4 in Mozilla Firefox and can't seem to find it... I never use RSS, anyway.

Nice article!  Thanks for putting that together, Penquinsrock!

I'm pretty sure different browsers handle RSS feeds in different ways.  Some may not handle them at all.  The instructions above describe how to do it in Internet Explorer.

It might be easier to just add the  users page into ur favorites as a favorite...

Dear Scratch Users,
I'm done with scratch, or at least making projects. I have made one last big game, thats both fun and teaches a lesson about water. It'd mean a lot if you gave me feedback.                              http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/bosox397/569201

Oh, I thought it was the same  I thought because all browsers had the same favourites thing though. Thanks Paddle2See and whoever moved this topic!

Re: The "Subscribe" feature, Q and A

This is an awesome FAQ, thanks for posting it. It has really cleared up some of the questions I had.

I was wondering if I could use this for a segment of my scratch magazine, T-Zine, called DIY and I would give you credit for it of course.

I fall: It's a tragedy. You fall: It's comedy.
Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: The "Subscribe" feature, Q and A

It'll be better if they made a subscribe system like on YouTube. It would've been less confusing for new users if it were that way.

Although, now "friends" are almost like subscribe.

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

Agreed. I still use IE6 sometimes, which doesn't at all handle RSS feeds, and I never really got the hang of the idea anyhow. YouTube has it right (there, at least).

Hehe yes. But since you might like somebodies projects, but not them subscribe is there!

@Awesome-me: Yes, that'd be much more efficient
