making fun of the scratch cat, "scratchie" as some kids at school call him.

Scratch Cat is a mascot. Why do people abuse him so much?

and paste it in your message. In fact, place it in your signature!
And that stuff I just said there too.

I think its just at your school. I don't see it being disrespected much. I've never even heard of the word 'scratchie' before. I reccomend just ignoring them. If they're very disrespectful, than I reccomend flagging the project.

I don't think using the Scratch cat is really something to be banned over . Lots of people involve the Scratch cat doing something funny, pointless and stupid in their projects. But It's not causing any harm.
Also, that project is perfectly ok on Scratch. Inappropriate things are extreme violence, offensive language, well, anything along those lines.
On a final note. If you ever find anything inappropriate on Scratch (or something you think is inappropriate). You shouldn't really post a link or tell other users how to get there. Instead, send in a report . Linking to inappropriate projects only means that more people are going to see it.

Exactly WHERE did you read you can't make fun? This is a free community. And don't flag projects that are apropriate.
You are obviously new here, considering your register date.

The Scratch cat is one of the main sprites used in Scratch, yes.
But that doesn't alter whether a project is suitable for the website or not .If that project was made with a picture of a dog, it still wouldn't be different .

Anyway, not many people abuse him. Maybe its just kids in your school. Seriously... a couple 10 people won't do much...

And I don't think they are making fun of him in a bad way...

...Lolfail
As you say, it's a mascot. Just a mascot. The Scratch Cat can't feel insulted by those projects.

I don't see anything wrong with it.
It's a free-for-use sprite, the scratch team doesn't care what you do with, as long as it isn't inappropriate. Making a person look bad is one thing, but a sprite... I just don't know. I don't think the name "scratchie" is insulting either, the mascot doesn't have an official name anyway.
