Yes, another thread.
I've seen lots of problems with the comment filtering system.
Here are some of them:
• Not getting any messages when receiving comments and such.
• Messages not going away.
• Wrong number of messages.
• You are given messages to check but there are none.
And lots, lots more that I have forgotten.
But one thing is certain: It's time to fix it!
This is simple: If you get it, post a thread on the problem as normal. But leave a post here (explain it. Detail is wanted) to get added to the list, which will hopefully help us find a connection!
I remember that I got a comment censored, and that was irritating. What made me think was that someone else tried posting the same comment, and he got censored too!
The comment had no mispellings and such. Lots of people have had the problem, and the list shall begin!
Note:

How did that get censored? I know that spelling can be an issue, and words that are sometimes defined as passable. But the sentence (and emote) are completely innocent!
Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

I posted this:
"Just wait until the final version. There's no reason to flag anything. You can see it when it's done. If people like you hadn't commented the password on earlier versions after I asked you not to, I wouldn't have to do this. I don't see why it's not allowed; if you're smart enough you can figure out the password."
and I got this message:
"Your comment reply "Just wait until the final version. There's no reason to flag anything. You can see it when it's done. Sometimes this automatic censorship is incorrect and we apologize if this is the case. We remind you to use appropriate language for all ages, please read the Terms of Use"

I just had something like this, I got a message saying:
The notes on your project Dot Rpg V.1 is potentially using inappropriate language. We remind you to use appropriate language for all ages, please read the Terms of Use
Yet all I changed was the bottom with the "I should be making more projects soon etc:"
Nothing is inappropriate or has been removed though o.o

The Scratch website keeps rejecting it and keeps sending me automatic messages that I should use appropriate language in project notes.

I think once recently I tried to post a comment but it did not post and then only after about five minutes I was told what it is. That is a good example.

It would help a lot if you post what the message was (the one that was automatically censored).
Also, if you could mention what messages went away. Are you referring to notifications or comments on your projects?
Thanks!

I think for the most part you just have to refresh the page... other than that I haven't noticed many glitches.

For your first sentence:
I finally found it! It was hard to search for it.
The message was: "When I tried it online, I'm not getting any bugs.
"
For your second sententence, I can't remember much of the detail. What I remember is that people would sometimes find that messages wouldn't show up when they got a comment or a reply. For messages that wouldn't be deleted, it was pretty much anything... it's happened to all of us, and I know that I've gotten it for about every case.
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you.

Oh, I think you have a glitch with the quotes at mine. And the exact quote is: (see next post)
It seems like the censor works on words like:
"bugs"
"inconvenience"
"flag"
I think.

Oops! Anyway, I'll add your later sentences in the important section.

I placed a comment on archmage's stuff, asking a question...
A message I received:
Your comment "I apologize if I'm silly, but what are the details for your 'quitting'? You say that you're not making any more projects, but I see you on the forums sometimes, and you do read your comments - in other words, you're active. Will you ever be quitting, or will you just stay and enjoy the Community?" in Scratch Jr was not posted because the system considered it inappropriate automatically.
Sometimes this automatic censorship is incorrect and we apologize if this is the case. We remind you to use appropriate language for all ages, please read the Terms of Use
By the way, those links in the quote are just text with color and underline.

That's very interesting, but it's not what I'm looking for. That's a problem with the filter, not the message system.

Oops! I thought I saw some quotes with that stuff in your topic post...
Yes! It's all over your topic post!

Rather than posting my own thread about the problem, I'm just going to necropost in here
==========
So I recently posted up a project and I wanted the notes to end with this Filipino phrase:
Gusto kong faves. Love-its, din. Fave o love-it, paki. Maraming salamat po.
![]()
The Scratch website keeps rejecting it and keeps sending me automatic messages that I should use appropriate language in project notes.
I realize the filter system is not perfect and that it sometimes bans words or phrases that incidentally has a bad word embedded in it (such as "grape") - however, in here I don't see a word or phrase in there that the filter sees as inappropriate (or maybe I'm not searching hard enough?), so I'm not exactly sure what is making the filter tick off.

I can't find it either...
Maybe you could try uploading bits of the phrase at a time? You could try to locate what bit is setting it off.

Thanks for the idea. I found the trigger word - "paki".
