y-log(100)+78=27+sqrt(2601)

No he's probably in 9th, my sis is 16, in 10th...and that's the average age!  It works differently in other areas, but what throws me off is that he is in his 3rd year of high school, if that is possible, he skipped two WHOLE grades! Extremely smart....

It depends when in 94. If you were born before September, probably 10th. If you were born after Sept 1, then you'd be in 9th, at least in my state.
