I personally think that it is fair. Unless, you make a mistake! Anyway, I think the Scratch team should make it a little longer. That will just be for those who make a mistake of want to change the name of the topic.

Anyway, I knew it was a short time, but I never realised it was that short  smile

Perhaps it could be extended to 10-15 minutes, If you make a mistake you want to change it, it can sometimes take a while too actually notice the mistake and by then It's to late..

It should be available permanently. You can edit your post content and such, so why not?

One problem, however. It can be used for lying, such as changing it and claming - but it shouldn't be much of a problem.
