Is there any way to capture or convert the first page of the Scartch .sb files into an PNG or JPG file?
I want to use it as the icon shown on the web.
Thanks

The url for the thumbnail of your project is:
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/your username/your project id_sm.png
EG. (user=fg123 and id = 77756)
http://scratch.mit.edu/static/projects/fg123/77756_sm.png

If you need to, you can take a screenshot of the picture you want, upload it to an image hosting website, and use that.

right click on the stage and select 'save picture of stage' to get a bitmap, then you can convert it to PNG with most image viewing programs.
Offline
1. Right click on the stage.
2. Select 'grab screen region for new sprite.'
3. Navigate to the costume you just captured.
4. Right click, and choose 'export...'
5. In explorer, find the picture you just exported.
6. It is in uncompressed BMP format (or 256 colour GIF if an older version of scratch)
7. If you wish to change this, open the file in paint.
8. From the edit menu, choose save as.
9. Save as JPEG or PNG, from the 'save as type' menu.
10. Save, and voila, you are done.

Or just go to presentation mode and take a screenshot and paste in in MS Paint

OR! set up the stage as you want, right-click (or left-click and hold) -on the stage -select, save picture of stage. And you can save i where you want, then use it when you want to. (Its very good for documenting projects and taking screen shots to advertise projects with)

but all this things are doing manually
is a there way or a software which automatically produces a .jpg or .png screenshot image of a scratch project which obviously is employed by scratch website people??
Please can anybody answer this?

that i dont know... its a good question.
Theres probably a built in part of scratch which does it, because if you look at the little box, which displays your project in a mini-picture, which was the stage just before you presed save-as/save(If you haven't pressed save-as before its the same as save-as)
