Featuring not fair

Ok Scratch Team, tell me what's goin' on here. I hate to use examples, but this time I had to.

This project is a remix of another with just grabbing. It got featured and has 1300 views.

This project is a remix of the project the first project was based on, with grabbing, velocity, and improved graphics, yet it has 30 views.(You may not see the graphical improvements)

Not like I'm saying I'm good or anything (hint hint  tongue ), but I think this feature is seriously messed up. Maybe you can use a computer-like program that analyzes a project based on scripts, comments, sprites, or anything based on popularity and how good it is to be featured(complex, simple, cool ,etc.) and looks at other remixes that the project is based on or the project itself and selects them if they are better than the project, but still says 'project largely in credit to: ________________'. That's the part you are missing.

Tell me if I'm just crazy, but I think this is a good example of the potential for improvement. Believe it or not, the second project was released EARLIER. Not saying the first project was bad or the second one was good, but I'd rather keep that in mind when selecting featured projects.

Additionally, the original project has 240 views. Plus, the first project actually does NOT give any credit whatsoever, aptly saying:

'images from google earth'

Which leads people to believe that the first one is genuine, made by the user all by themselves.

We're talking conspiracy here peoples!

Hope you take my suggestion,

Re: Featuring not fair

I kinda agree. At first, I was like ok, but then I saw that the second project was yours, so I was like dissapointed, but then I saw it was made earlier, so that kinda counteracted it, a bit. I'm not sure, but I think Paddle2See is the one that choses featured projects.

You are right, Pinochio, and that's what I'm saying. Lucario, what do you mean? Were you thinking I was wrong when I showed my projects?

You got the links messed up.  tongue

I don't think the Scratch Team checks... though the remix did have improved stuff. Hmmm...

Re: Featuring not fair

I'm not entirely fussed on what gets on the featured spot, provided it's fair and of good quality.

But yes, you've got a point.

Re: Featuring not fair

I know. I might sound greedy and wanting to get to the front page, but I'm just trying to show an example.

Re: Featuring not fair

I also disagree with the featuring process. That project "How to Open a Tricky Pickle Jar was absolutely nothing besides usual animation. With all respect to readaholic, that project should never have gotten front page.
