It says it has cookies in the first paragraph, right? And it says it doesn't have any third-party cookies in the second paragraph, right? A third-party would be a different company or website. So there ARE cookies, but they ARN'T third-party cookies.

It says 'We do not have any third-party content, advertising, OR cookies'

It doesn't say anything about third-party cookies. I know that's what it means, I am merely pointing out that they made a mistake.

Yeah it looks funny, but imagine if it said

We do not have any third-party content, third-party advertising, or third-party cookies

Someone's English teacher would be rolling over in their grave.

If I was dead, that's what I would be doing.

Re: Mistake in the Scratch Privacy Policy

Read it again. It says we will not put any THIRD PARTY cookies. That means ones that hurt your computer or are just spamming it up.

No it doesn't how many times do I have to say it, this is what it says:

'We do not have any third-party content, advertising, OR cookies'

Tell me where it says anything about third-party cookies.

Say that it's this way:
"We do not have any third-party content, third-party advertising or third-party cookies"

Most people would type it in the way it is in the policy.

Re: Mistake in the Scratch Privacy Policy

I'd just like to ask one question:

Has it been fixed yet?

I fall: It's a tragedy. You fall: It's comedy.
Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.

Re: Mistake in the Scratch Privacy Policy

Both statements are correct in proper English terms.

Say I said "I have milk" and then I said "I don't have his apple, carrot or milk".. I wouldn't be saying "I don't have milk".

It's what the privacy policy is saying, Scratch has cookies (as does every website that requires you to log in), but they don't have other website's cookies.

Tell me where it says anything about third-party cookies.

It is gramatically correct actually.

If you begin a DIFFERENT sentence, and then refer to someones belongings. It counts as belonging to them, in this case, third-parties.

If I said. "His bag, shoe and coat", I'm not saying he only owns a bag. While I admit it could sound confusing, the Scratch Team haven't made any mistakes  smile

Ah, but you see, 'third party cookies', would come under the heading of 'third party content'. If your sentence had said 'His belongings, shoes and coat', it would be implying that his shoe and coat were not his belongings.

Re: Mistake in the Scratch Privacy Policy

Even with belongings, that sentence would make sense, just very badly.

However, think of the Third-party as a person, they are different company's, so it makes perfect sense.

Read it as 'We do not have any of Jamie's content, advertising, OR cookies'

See how it makes sense with an actual name? Third-parties are groups, so they can own cookies.

Re: Mistake in the Scratch Privacy Policy

Thanks for bringing this up. It's true that our privacy policy was a bit unclear with regards to "third party content".  We've made a minor change to help clarify things. Scratch On!
