Think it's time to move on from scratch into a propper programming language?
flash may look good but c++ would hold a better future for game programmers and developers as thats what most xbox/playstation games are written in. Think your up for it? 1st thing i'm looking for is teamwork skills( being able to work in a team well). Second thing is programming skills and expirience, third thing is eficiency.
If your good at all those things then you are a possible yes. Experience in C++ will also help alot. we're only having one person in each catigory apart from programming art, design, programming.
C++ is hard and will take some practice to learn but in the end you will have a great knowledge of game pragramming. We will most likely be looking for a game engine for our games. All software will be provided by me aswell as game engines.
Finally there will be a comp to prove your programming skills and possibly make it into the team. Any questions regarding should be stated. I will be the manager/leage programmer/publisher of our projects. This will also be an non proffit company the main idea of this company is to prepare people for what lies beyond scratch and its restrictive boundries.
The company's name shall be Wolf Worm Studios, arguements with the name will result in nothing.
Thankyou!!
Mattenator.

Shouldn't this belong in inspiration and more?

c++ never used that before but i've used visual basic(very easy to use for me), C# , flash and of course java via scratch interface.
I also have microsofts XNA game maker for C# <--- (you can make X-Box 360 games with this but microsoft is stinge and wants you to pay to make this feature work
)
I just have a few questions:
what progam are you using for C++ is it microsoft C++ or something else ?
and what are the game engines? I have cube2
just interested that's all and I would like to here more about this and hope that it all goes as planned

I just started scratch a few months ago, and flash a week or so ago so I don't think I would be good at C++. I can't even perfect Flash's syntax...

c++ isn't the hardest thing to learn you can pick the laungage up in a couple of months

I still think this should be in inspiration&more since it's not advertising a project or gallery
And C++ isn't to hard.

See - that's my problem. I'm impatient.

The problem with Flash is that there are many people out there with it. They get paid less than C++ programmers, because there are more of them - if a Flash programmer does badly, he gets fired because there are so many more to take.
And on it goes.
C++, however, is considerably rarer. It pays better, and is less well-known.
But overall, it's up to you! Choose what you enjoy.

I found a program that looks really good it's an add on for the microsoft C++ it's called Dark GDK it can be used to make 3d and 2d games. I will have to research it abit more to see if I could use it.
you need to download both microsoft C++ 2008 express and Dark GDK both of these are free you just need to register microsofts program for free after about a month.
This is the microsoft link http://www.microsoft.com/express/samples/GameCreators/ it's got lost of info there and you can download Dark GDK
This is the installation guide http://gdk.thegamecreators.com/?f=install for microsoft C++ and Dark GDK
This is the link for microsoft C++ 2008 express http://www.microsoft.com/express/vc/ it's also got stuff on the other program as well
You should really check it out it looks like a great program and it's freeeeeeeee

Seems fun!
That is exactly what I want to do as an adult, so perhaps... experience here would help me! I'd love to be able to help if possible.

Hey mattenator, the 'Show and Tell' forums is for showing and telling about Scratch projects and/or galleries only. Threads that talk about and show something other than a Scratch project or gallery usually go in the 'Inspiration and More' forum. Your thread will be moved to the 'Inspiration and More' forum section.
