The Scratch Team is implementing some changes to the website (log out and look at the front page, you can see one of the changes there). Perhaps there are some bugs that were unforeseen during the changing process?

Thanks, I hope they can fix it, still with the new changes

Hey BWOG, I would like it if you added this to the bug list in your first post (this way, if the problems persist later on, Paddle2See can see the problems straight away and create a bug report):
- projects cannot be added to galleries
- user cannot add love-it to project
- user cannot add project to favorites

Every bugs mentioned must be linked, I think...
Is it Mark who is fiddling with the site
EDIT: The tagging doesn't work either...
And even more important, the flagging system doesn't work

You're right. Wierd. But the new look for people who haven't logged in is nice! Although can't they do this at a time which the timezone with most of the scratchers live in (EST
) are sleeping, like at 2AM?

Wow, there's a lot of problems.
Another one to add to the list:
- Project Notes cannot be edited

With that being said, you can't edit the title. As far as I can tell, the main website links work, and the forums, but everything else is not working. The forums work, because andresmh just made it from punbb hosting or something.

Maybe messages aren't updating? I haven't recieved any.

I'm not sure if that is a bug. It could be a consequence because people cannot comment to projects or add stuff to galleries.

I think so. Its nice that you can still delete comments. Because I, and most likely you, delete most comments that are additions to new galleries or just say 'Cool' or 'AWESUM!'

It sounded quite funny before I read the second sentence

Well, hope this doesn't go on records of everyone being I.P. Bann'd for spam.

The Scratch Team contacted me after I sent in an e-mail about the problem. They told me that they're having the website use a proxy to increase speed. This new proxy server is probably causing all the other bugs that you see going on the website. Hopefully, the Scratch Team will get the bugs fixed soon.

...Oops, I just posted something about the comments. Maybe it's a different problem though. You're probably having the same person...
EDIT: Well, maybe the speed increase isn't worth it, IF it's either...
1. Hard to repair
2. Can't repair
3. Can't what's making the problems,
4. Will take a week or more to repair...
For number 4, people may take advantage and share inappropriate projects. Worse, it could get on the front page, because people viewed it to flag it!

Well, hopefully the Scratch Team will realize that the server is down and get right on that. Luckily for us, the Forums still work.
Can you still add projects? I haven't tried yet, but I will need to upload one in just a few moments...At least if it says "error connecting to server" I'll know why.

Hi everyone - sorry about the glitches with the site today! Sometimes unforseen problems come up when we roll out updates / changes. We're looking into the issues reported on this thread. As always, it's very helpful when Scratchers include lots of information when reporting bugs - like 1. operating system (Windows / Mac / Linux) 2. Browser (IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.), and 3. Detailed steps to see / reproduce the problem. (i.e. go to project page, try to click "reply to comment" but the reply window does not show up.)
Thanks for your help! Hopefully we can fix these glitches soon....

Liyghtnin? Adding Friends appears to be broken too. i think anything needing a "blue button" broke...

How many people have visited this site on Linux? Just to chat on the forums or comment and play projects? Scratch Linux is only in a mini, open Alpha, which is also a little hidden(I found it..lol)..

This is my explanation for the banning:
The scratch team was trying to ban one user for spamming. They were looking through the list of users, and instead of using the keystroke for copy (Ctrl-C), they used the keystroke for select all, then copied because of their constant need to use it. (With the changing of the website, they must have gotten used to using select all)
OR:
One of the admins or mods banned everyone by accident XD

None of these problems happened to me... I'm running on Ubuntu with Firefox, but when I tried on my Windows computer, these happened to me. Must be the operating system...

Not quite.
One moderator (me) was trying to ban one user for commercially spamming the forums; as usual, the IP ban was added as an extra measure. What she didn't know was that there was a proxy server bug, causing the forum website to read everyone's IP address as the same as that of the server on the Scratch forums - thinking she was banning the IP address of the spammer, she put the server IP address in the IP ban field and unintentionally ended up causing everyone to be banned from the Scratch Forums. Fortunately, she contacted the Scratch Team and they fixed the proxy bug in the forums, so everyone got unbanned again while the spammer was no longer allowed to post in the forums.
*thanks to BWOG for corrections from the original story*
