Most country music (it usually has a pretty good message in the lyrics, but the music itself is just not good), 99% of rap songs, all heavy metal. All of it.
Oh and... Miley Cyrus/Jonas Brothers, of course.

I agree with all of that EXCEPT country. I actually like country, and listen to it every day. I agree with you though, that the lyrics usually have a good message, but the music is not always bad.

Pretty much anything "popular". I like a few of those bands, but not many.
I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

I find the subject of bands irrelevant. I care more for the music's subject matter. 
The type of music that makes my ears bleed are:
1 - anything explicit
2 - florid organum music
Music that is geared towards younger age groups and the mainstream music of the teenage world don't make my ears bleed, but I don't like them either because, in my opinion, they have a tendency to be cliché and overdone to the point where I'm finding them boring and uninteresting.

try tally hall, they're just a bunch of geeks who like to have fun
also panic at the disco, super awesome kinda emo in thier new one, definately in their old one
also billy talent has a really unique voice
