Scrolling Backgrounds, Made Easy

Okay, of all the suggestions I've put on this forum, this has got to be the one that I want to most: Being able to import pictures as sprites that are bigger than the screen.
I know how to make sprites bigger than the viewing area, but the Scratch drawing tool is really basic (no offense, I use photoshop and stuff for backgrounds xD ) and doesn't achieve what I want a background to be like. And I usually use Scratch for Animation more than programming, so instead of programming each one as a scrolling background I could just make the background (which would have to be a sprite. D8 ) glide in whatever direction instead, which would make it easier to change between backgrounds, too.
So PLEASE. Give the idea some thought. It would make animation in Scratch a heck of a lot easier for a lot of us.
