How to do a "fake" online effect in a game.

Just like it says as a topic, this is about how to to a fake online effect in the game. Now everybody knows Scratch does not have the capability to connect online players together like in Runescape. Well there is a way to make it seem like there is.

So lets take my Super Smash Bros. Brawl game for example. Lets say I want to make it capable of a fake online ability. Well if scratch cannot do real online capability such, I know what it can do, easy and hard CPUs. Now do you know what I'm talking about? So you could put a "Connecting to Internet . . . Please wait a few moments" thing and then  during that time it will pick a random dificulty and a random character and you will battle it. Of course somebody might notice the difference. So you might want to make harder dificulties (and even dummer dificulties) only available in online mode. Of course with super hard, you would have move combos, and different tactics.

Of course what if its not my Brawl game? Lets say it's a . . . RPG I guess. Well for hard you might make them have higher strength, defence and attack, and have specific moves they would do. So in stead of picking a random attack, if it has low health, it will heal, and if it has its power bar full, it might do attack that it rarely gets to do. And more decision making. But for easy, you woudl just have them be a noob, and ya be even stupider. Yet that does still not mean it will pick a random move. Lets see, when his/her health is low, it might use an attack that does recoil! Now thats stupid! So you get the idea.

And if it's a puzzle game, or a Jeporady game, or wait. . .  bring that Jeporady thing back. Jeporady is always easy for making online, but who would want to do online Jeporady? Well if you did you would have maybe a set amount of probablility of getting the question right. For the CPU.

And well that's all I can think of. I hope this helped  smile   Also, if you have a game that you are wondering what to do to make the CPU harder or easier, ask me. Enjoy this help!

For super smash, you could do your friend code and give it a name and make it say "lucario wants to battle you!" And it gives your code and then its controlled by AI (computer) and if it loses it says "rematch?"

I am Heybrian. Yes, the "Ask me anything, for i am a pro scratcher" Thread IS mine.

Yes, let's use this to create fake online play at torture all the good people of Scratch in making them trying everything in order to make online play. Then I will spoil it all and get out of the way with you being chased by a virtual mob!!!
(Oh wait... YOU RUINED MY EVIL PLAN!!!!)
