What kind of projects?

If I were a curator, I would select educational and complex projects, simulations, games, and scrolling games. I would also select games that may not have been on the front page, or even viewed, so they can have a time to shine too!

could i be a curator? I love to view people's projects and especially love warriors things. from AMV's to RPG's, Warriors is my top favorite, but i like anything in general.

Hm, this sounds cool. If I were chosen for curator, I would choose what REALLY deserves front page, not one sprite-one script projects with small scribbles talking badly of other users, but things that people actually work hard on. Sadly, I am one of those people who work very hard and never get the glory known as "frontpage", and even if I am curator, I cannot place my projects, but I am pleased that I can give others the chance to do so, and let them know that I am there to let them prosper in their career here in Scratch.
During my campaign, I will choose a selection of animations, educational projects, games, and sometimes simulations. What do I classify as a game I should put in the curator spot? Anything that someone has worked long and hard hours on, clicking the green flag time and time again to see if they're project flows well, brings in the viewer(s), and entertain at the same time.
So choose me, FloatingMagicTree, as your next curator! *Dan dan danan dan danan danan danan dan* *confetti* *Star Spangled Banner plays* *crowd cheers*
Reposting my speech, edited it too.

Hey packman214, the Scratch Team created a new forum purely dedicated to TBGs. Look for andresmh's post in the TBG section of the Scratch forums for the link to the new TBG forum.

I would like to be a curator because nobody really looks at my projects, but I at least would like them to look at the projects I like.

Hi, I would like to become a curator because my friend has became upset that his projects are not as popular as mine. I got my project popular from curator spot, so I was thinking this would work for him. I also want to help some new scratchers get popular so they will enjoy scratch more and want to stay longer. I would like to pick some funny projects that give you a good laugh, and also really amazing games that I think really deserve front page when it's not on front page. Well, I hope you select me as your next curator,
Williamstaa.

You know, I'd love to be a curator.
I have a wide range of Projects Id post up there.. Anywhere from Animations to M44s Platform games. Been there, done that. Im not picky. The simplest things in life should please the naked eye, no? For example, Even if its July I'd still add a Christmas Project or that beautiful Dress-Up game by Cheddargirl. But really, Prose/Poetry are very fine works of art that I wished were popularized on scratch. But you have to work with what you have, don't go over. I am not fond of people who copy, So I wouldn't Curate any remix/copies of a certain project.
If I could ask one thing, Id really love to get some ideas on popularizing my 'Light a candle' Project. I want to bump up from 200+ Remixes to 400-600 =}

Lightnin, I notice that the bit in your topic post about "Tell us the kind of projects you'd like to show, and why you want to show them." is gone. Why did you remove it? I think it was a nice feature (and shows that you've read the topic post).
At the beginning of the second page of posts, Andrés posts:andresmh wrote:
I would like to emphasize one of the sentences in the call for curators
As you submit your application to be a curator, please tell us more about you and your goals as a curator. This will help us make our decision.
Thanks! That's proof, so I'm not confused.
Thanks for pointing this out. Actually, the original post wasn't edited - Andresmh was quoting from the Curator page on the Scratch website:
http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Become_a_Scratch_Curator
Come to think of it, it might not hurt to add that statement to the first post as well.
Oops! I remembered seeing it in the topic post (I seem to, but it seems not), so I was wondering.
Yay! It's added!

It's good that you have already chosen some projects, but they already have enough attention.
The main point of the curator spot is for great projects that go unnoticed.

Yeah. It is to give users that don't get much attention more.

But what you could do is pick funny animations that have about 5 or 10 views.

I wouldn't mind to be a Curator!
If I become a Curator I will carefully chose which project to put under the Curator's section. No matter what genre the project is it must fit these requirements for me to select it:
-Must be Original or Remixed (Not a complete copy)
-Must be appropriate for all ages
-Must show examples that represent the Scratch community in a good way
-Must show effort of some sort
Also, the most important rule...
-Show you love and dedication towards Scratch!
I hope my application is taken into consideration!

Yeah, I think DawnLight would be the best curator yet!
And Scratch Team: You don't have to pick me as curator now, I made a gallery called "FMT's picks" a few weeks ago that does the exact same thing as the curator. So, don't feel that you have to pick me right away. It would be nice, but not necessary.
