You can't exactly delete your thing can you?
Well actually, I never tried that close account button, but I'm assuming it closes your account, not deletes it

Actually, I've tried it, but it asks you why you want to delete it. I forgot what is says though; 
but it was something about deleting your account.
Retired from Scratch, but just the language itself. Not the forums.

The Scratch Team have removed the "Close Account" feature because people were worried if hackers would use it.
Yes, your forum posts stay.
The "Close Account" feature is more of a "Delete Account" feature, I think.

Try searching it... there are several animations on it. But I think it said this:

Here's the message:
"Sorry to see you go. In order to confirm you want to close your account [username] and make all your projects unavailable, please type below the reasons for doing this. Your account will be closed immediately after that."
In the place of [username] put in your username.
"Sorry to see you go. In order to confirm you want to close your account scratch_yoshi and make all your projects unavailable, please type below the reasons for doing this. Your account will be closed immediately after that."

I clicked it, and it asks you why you wanted to close your account. You can quit there though

No, The Scratch Team removed it because a lot of people were worried of hackers.

It's gone now. It was in the My Stuff category, below the Change Password and all that. It's a good thing it's gone, though.

that sucks because i have too many accounts and i wanted to make a different one but i dont want too many so i want to delete one or two

If you go to gamma.scratch.mit.edu, and use the close account feature, it works on your real Scratch account! 
I tested it on my old test account: Personman2000
