Thanks guys for working and I will check out the cat Lucario.
Edit: Lucario, nice job and am pretty sure we should use that, but I recommend that you make one because Batzerk is not on the team and you are. But make it like this one(blinks, etc.) so it is like it is alive.Adriangl, I think you're taking it a bit too far. It works fine, and I think its better than working harder, for less, so chill out

No, I am saying do the exact same thing except make the sprite yourself. Nothing too far, use the same scripts but a new sprite.

What method are we using?
I like The-Whiz's engine so we will work on that. When he comes back I will get the details from him on how it works. In the meantime I am working on the moods and the sprites and background is being worked on Lucario.

I understand what you're saying, I'm just saying we don't have to do that. I'm simply saying thats a waste of time.
Should I
A. Waste more of my time, to make a scratch cat that could never be as good at BATzerk,
or
B. Work on Batzerk's and smooth the lines out a bit, and work on other graphics and help the rest of the collaboration out.
Exactly, the answer is B.

Maybe looking at Jen's Eliza project would help. Although its a bit complicated so its hard to understand.

Ok, B but make sure it is not too much the same so when it is uploaded it won't say it is based on his work, because it really isn't.

I'm glad you're *somewhat* using your noggin.
EDIT: Also by the time we put the projects together and such, you won't even be able to see it... You'll just see:
Based off of The-Whiz's Verison of pinochio's project.
[cleverness]Hehe.[/cleverness]

Ok guys I uploaded a new version, well atleast I updated it, and this way you can look at it online, by typing in the password scratchcat (no spaces between). I added a background, and there are sliders so change emotions.

Good job, keeps looking better. Keep it up.

Also, I don't think credit will be given to Batzerk because we can just import the sprite to the rest of the project. And I am not trying to be evil because Batzerk didn't really do anything except help us with the idea of how the cat will function.

Ok then. *still suspicious lol*
Any ideas for backgrounds?

Um, as Pinochio suggested maybe something techy, not black because somethings might not be visible, but a plain blue or orange colored background is fine.

I can make a background...
We have chosen your base engine so could you explain that to us? I am trying to work on it but it is pretty complicated(you are "The-Whiz"). Thanks.

OK.
(Here's the background)
The format:
These are the items in the list, followed by an explanation:
Hi <---Word to respond to
{ <---signifies start of replies
Hello <---reply
Hi <---reply
} <---signifies end of replies
Hello <---word to respond to
redirect <---signifies to redirect to the replies of another word
Hi <---the word to redirect toWhat do you want to know?

Background is fine, I'll leave that up to Lucario, and now I understand the engine. But you are probably better with it so keep working. I am still trying to add more.

Do you want the mood-swing script?
Yeah, I am still just doing single-mood scripts, so that would be perfect. And Whiz, work on your engine(what I am doing) to have more words, etc.

Add different questions, ex. What's your name, whats your favorite color, and differnt things based on my set of responses on the second page of this thread. I have a bunch of words and phrases, so it would work great.

The cat asks the questions or the player asks the questions?
