Choose the TBG mod carefully... Voting guide!

I am not telling you who to vote for, but I am telling you what to look for in a candidate.

This is for the Text-Based Games moderator election.

-A moderator should be on Scratch often, so that they can do their job. Look for candidates that use the website a lot.

-Choose one that is more experienced, or has been using Scratch for a very long time.

-Don't pick a mod just because you like their projects, choose a mod based on their problem solving skills.

-Don't pick a mod that has a reputation of starting arguments, "forum fights", or "flame wars". Pick a mod based on how often they end the fights, or make peace.

I will list more later... Thanks! And keep these in mind when you cast your vote, or maybe even change your vote!  big_smile

If you think of more before I do, tell me and I will add it up here.

Amen.
There are some people in the candidate list that I see as people who often contribute to Flame-wars instead of trying to help come to a peaceful conclusion. And there are others who barely come on the Forums at all, which confuses me. Why would you want to be a mod if you're never here?

Well, it is in Texed-Based games, ^^
here's another rule:
Pick people who are friendly to others, and don't single others out to make points. (example)
If someone complained about something, like spammers, a good mod should not say the following:

Random_scratcher555 wrote:

Gosh, I really hate it when people spam. It's annoying, and gets the threads off-track.

IAmAModerator wrote:

I agree. Do you know about AnimationGuy5? He spams all the time.

A good mod (or anyone at all) shouldn't single people out like that, because then people might feel the need to be mean toward that person. And if that person were to see that post, they would most likely get angry and retaliate by trying to pick a fight.

How to Choose a Mod and not Miss - a guide by MyRedNepune.

Instructions.

1. Locate your desired mod.
2. Take a stick. Now, lightly tap your potetial mod on the shoulder using the stick.
3. Repeat step two 99 times.
4. After completing step 3, look at its face - no, look at your face first. If you discover a black eye, your desired person isn't suited to become a mod. Sorry.
5. If no black eye is discovered - you chose the right person! Hooray!

Try it. It actually works.

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>

GASP!
You shouldn't be a mod, in that case, Neptune! Because I'm pretty sure after the 20th tap you would tie me into a pretzel knot XD

Did I ever mention pretzel knots in my guide? ^,^

I only mentioned black eyes, and MyRedNeptune would never give you a black eye. ^^

She would just destroy you.
