Running Scratch on "Locked Down" Macs

I have a teacher friend who is interested in running Scratch on Macs in her school.  The computers are fairly rigidly controlled, as are most school computers, and she is looking for a way to run Scratch from a CD.  Does that work?  Are there system files that need to reside on the computer or can the entire application live on the CD?

I have a feeling this topic was addressed in the Forum somewhere fairly recently but I am unable to locate it.

Thanks for your assistance.

Re: Running Scratch on "Locked Down" Macs

Hi Paddle2see

I have tried a USB- memorystick and it works. But it´s on a PC in a "locked down school". Pupils are too creative if it´s not locked down... and in School we don´t support creativity ;))

I am running Scratch from the MyApps on my "locked down" computer. This folder is generally available for all Users.

Re: Running Scratch on "Locked Down" Macs

Just drag the file anywhere besides Applications...
Desktop, Documents...
And download the files; not the installer.
