Personally, I think scratch should have fuller alpha support, like true support for alpha PNGs, stamping objects that have been ghosted and setting alpha for the pen tool. This would allow projects to have more practical ways for transparency, instead of having to use the oh-so-glitchy Ghost block.
Things that this would allow/make MUCH better would be:
- PNG graphics with drop shadows, glows and blurs.
- Projects that use the pen tool to draw shadows.
- Antialiased images
- Images with different transparancies at different parts.
...And there are much more capabilities of the Alpha PNG. Even Internet explorer uses it (shudder)
This is the part where I would include a with or without picture, but I can't be bothered. (look at my signuature - those are Alpha PNGs, so they blend in with the background.)
Discuss.

I agree but it will further slow down scratch
Only for those willing to use it in their projects - but yes, it would slow down a bit.
