Video annd Scratch 1.4

Hi everyone!

Would really appreciate help or suggestions.

I´ve got Scratch 1.3 and I've done animations by importing gifs and then doing the change costume thing. Is there another way to go?

I´m a teacher and would like to inform the kids if video is possible in Scratch and the best way to do it.
Is there a good program to convert videos to gifs and with what limitations to the length of the video? ( Or is there any other way to get video into Scratch)?

Going to try out Scratch 1.4, can anyone point out what interesting new features it has?

I want my students  to be able to upload their projects to the Scratch site in my country which only has 1.3. Is there any way around this, because I'm assuming Scratch 1.4 has great improvements.

By the way, can the two versions of Scratch co-exist on the same computer?

Sorry about all the questions.
Any help at all will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
IrisSophia

with asv video converter you can convert videos into frames http://www.avs4you.com/AVS-Video-converter.aspx but it goes into like 1000s of images which takes up alot of your hard drive but i thin/k you can compress them into a certain amount!

Re: Video annd Scratch 1.4

you could try total video converter it could converter a video to a huge gif (never showed a limit to me) Or u could also use animget to rip some of the vids in the form of images this is really limitless

Lists were added in 1.3. 1.4 has mesh, but you have to see MathWizz's guide for it.
