Hello scratchers...

My name is Dan and I am an educator is Alberta, Canada. I teach junior high mathematics and social studies. Are there other educators using this technology, how successfully, in what capacities, are students enjoying it, is the learning curve for teachers / students very steep?

My final question is, do projects / challenges out there that will help help / guide students to help their learning of the Scratch language?

Scratch is a very good software for teaching programming!

I'm not an educator, I'm a student and I would have loved if we had learnt about programming in school.

Hi Dan! Welcome to Scratch

I know this afterschool program at my school that uses Scratch. I'm a student there and i noticed that kids seem very interested in learning about it and using Scratch. The learning curve isn't very steep and most of it is pretty straightforward. Any projects that involved creativity and thinking will help your students help learn Scratch.

The learning curve isn't too hard, just kinda' hard to get used to. A students opinion: Scratch in computer classes is WAY more fun and a better education opportunity.
