Puzzle/Mystery
Professor Layton and the Diabotical Box is the PERFECT game for you!
Professor Layton and Luke (his apprentice) are about to visit their good friend, and they find that he has possesion of the "cursed" Elysian Box, supposedly to kill anyone who opens it.When they get to his house, they find him dead on the floor.(Eeek! Spooky!) As you unravel the mystery, you solve puzzles and riddles having to do with the situation. There are curses, secrets, illusions, and vampires. Are you ready to play?
First Person Shooter
Um, Halo 3 ODST. What more do you want?
RPG
Tales of Vesperia would be awesome!
In Vesperia, you're in control of when you fight and how you go about winning once swords cross. There are times when you're ambushed or otherwise forced to fight because you're path is blocked by an Ice Bat or some such other fierce beast, but for the most part you can fight when you choose and flee when you'd rather. And once battle ensues, Tales keeps things intense and action-packed. Truly Awesome.
Action
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is really cool, but just make sure to be prepared for glitches. You are a team of heroes (Marvel, you know, like spiderman and captain america) and in the beginning, you need to take down the new prime-minester of Laterveria.(Thats how you spell it right?) Then the government asks you to think of their new plan, Hero Registration.
If you register, you have to tell them everything about you. Pros: You dont get in trouble with the government. Cons: Who knows if they are just gonna send you to jail for doing the right thing, or not obeying orders like:" Kill storm! She didnt register!". A criminal or a villian could just pop in with the most powerful virus in the world and get all that information about you, and then they can use that against you.
If you rebel, you run away with other heroes and live in an under-ground agency.Pros: You dont have any risk with doing business with the government and going to jail or villains hurting your loved ones. Cons: Government is trying to find you and they will take you down if they find you. Oh, and YOU LIVE UNDERGROUND.(BTW, i chose rebel.)
At some point you can play as villians cuz the world gets messed up.(Oh, and you can play as Deadpool. Yay!)
Best Game that i dont know the subject of
Infamous. You are a dude named Cole. He used to be a bike messenger, but then one day a package blew up in his hands, giving him electrical powers.(EX: Lighting out of his hands.)You can be good or evil, if your good, then you fight the reapers, an organization making people sick with a plague to take over the world. If your evil, um i think you work with them. IGN gave it a 9.2: Outstanding and my dad played it, so try it. You just may like it.

There's no point suggesting rhythm games like Guitar hero because everyone has tried them already.
Super Mario World is a timeless classic, and imo endlessly replayable. Mario Kart DS is similarly replayable.
Also, for anyone who claims FPS' don't work on the DS, play Metroid Prime Hunters. It's better than most console FPS'.

Don't have a 360... Please name a good Wii/DS RPG that has nothing to do with Mario, Sonic, Pokemon, Zelda, or Kirby.
