When I played FMT, fatuige hit me. We had been working hard to build a catapult- yes a catapult, in Boyscouts. That took alot outa me. But I'm ready to kick some butt now >   btw I just got back from paintball. And thx for the tip.    I know this sounds like an excuse... and it is    But I'm just an average brawler X3

Here are some of my veteran tips: Jump a lot, learn how to use shields and blocks, and know all the moves your character has. They are kind of simple tips, but trust me, it will help.

I do all of those. But I'm so busy with ither things, that I can't perfect brawl to even my standards. I play with MLG on Halo 3, and I play with 420 on Section 8. So it's kinda hard to make time for brawl too.

Those tips are ok but they won't make you win.

If you really want to win, you go to smashboards.com and look in the character forums for the character you want to play. Then you look at guides, and videos of pros playing. You copy the techniques in the videos and copy the techniques in the guides. Then you go somewhere where people can play this game well (allisbrawl.com , not scratch) then learn how to fight with them. If you don't fight good people then you will never be able to dodge or maneuver your character properly (like every person I have faced on scratch).

I don't play this game anymore but the 500+ hours of gameplay is burned into my head.

I play Street Fighter 4 now.

I used to play street fighter but there was something about it that just never got me hooked, like most fighting games do. But then I found a game on Xbox live arcade called King of Fighters. Best fighting game ever, along with Teken and Gorou MOW.

Also, Smash Bros is not really a normal fighting game. It has no defined combos and the movement to too loose. You can't even do too many useful combos in brawl, but in SF4 I spent the first months just practicing combos.

But in Melee there were combos that were actually somewhat hard to perform.

Here are some Melee combo examples

Marth: f-air,f-air, (repeat until you can't) down air
Marth: U throw,(chain u throw) u tilt
Sheik:F-tilt f-air
Fox:dair, waveshine, uthrow, aerial

Only fox and falco combos were hard. Marth and Sheik combos were fairly easy.

Ken combo FTW.
