No one has said the greatest reason for why they should be a moderator.
Of course, that's just my opinion, but I'm quite sure it's the best one that the Scratch Team would like.

Why? But it's a very selfless action on your part, so... here, take an award.

thanks
As I stated earlier, I really didn't care whether or not I got to be a mod, and I just thought, if I wasn't a candidate, it would give people who wanted to be a mod, a better chance at getting to be one

It seems to me, everyone has been giving the same reasons, but what else is there?
If you think you could be active, able, non-bias, fair, friendly and all the other qualities (and even prove a few of those). What exactly can you say?
I noticed Andres said a teacher would be nice, so perhaps he already has someone in mind. But the only other thing I can think of is that you have either been a moderator somewhere in the past which 'may' help.
So all I can add to that is it could be an interesting experience, but will hold quite a bit of responsibility rather than just being lots of fun because your a moderator.
And to finish off, the TBG's close tomorrow, but that isn't solid evidence that the mods will be picked straight, it could be soon though.

1 day left, I'm presuming the Scratch Team will have the TBG's gone tomorrow.

There mind is set but if you look closely, they're moving the TBG's to another part of the site.

Bye then, TBG.
Personally I liked this forum. I'd rather go for moderating it together with The-Whiz, nikkiperson2 and fruit than just let it fade away. I have some experience, since I had my own forum once, so I know what it's like.
As for forum itself, I suggest to base it on phpBB3. It's free and most likely opensource technology, slightly better than FluxBB, and PMing can be disabled too.
Why I'd like to be a mod?
Mostly because I liked this forum very much, and I know that when the game is good, people won't start a flame war (maybe except few persons, but I won't name any names at this point). I also want to do something for the role players, because I know what it's like - I was a game master in each and every RPG in my class in primary school. I know that a well-directed game can be really addicting. And of course, I'm one of those reasonable people who won't stick their own games. No. I'd like to create a Game of the Week spot, where community suggests their favourite games and we -- talking of Scratch Text-Based Games team -- choose the featured game for the week every Monday (voting would be on weekend).
I know that it's like TL;DR, but... I just liked this forum... *sobs*
I'll vouch for you.

Just saying "I want to be a moderator" most likely will be discarded. Also, you might have to gather the support form other long established members of the community and our current moderators.

I wanna be a mod
I spend most of my time looking in the forum (when my computer has connection anyway) and I try to tell people when not to swear, or just use the report button.

What would be the difference from a TBG on this forum and one on a different forum as said on the announcement? TBG should stay. The removal will cause more problems and it will fill up Inspiration and More. A lot of people will get angry and possibly quit scratch. If moderators are being elected right now, then they might as well help keep TBG running. Please think about this post.

I would like to be a mod. Here are a few reasons why I would be good for the job.
1. I love Scratch and am an active user.
2. I have been around TBG for a while.
3. I have been a member of Scratch for over two months.
4. I can be mature and stay calm while explaining things to other users.
There are some reasons ^^
Wait, are you moving the topics or "destroying" them?

ok im making another speech
this is why i should become a moderator
I first came to the scratch site in the year 2008, what I saw here was a friendly group of supportive people who worked on making the best games that they could. this was a great group of people, everyone was very accepting and I Was adding people to my friends all the time. I later discovered the forums and got to see some more people too, the entire time I was striving to get the frotn page because I really wanted the popularity. well to this day I have only achieved it twice, once was an advertisement and the second was because lanie added one of my projects to her favorites when she was curator (thnx lanie) but I have never really gotten what I really want and that was number one top loved (on the front page) I think this is something everyone strives for. but you know I realised something. as much as fame is great and everyone wants to be famous you gotta look back on the little things. i've recieved comments saying that my games were incredible, amazing, and I've recieved comments saying that they were awful and that they could do better in their sleep, the hurtful comments hurt but when someone says great job its a great feelin, and I always try to reply to people hwen they comment on my work. So the main reason i think scratch is awesome is because it teaches you lessons like that. how no matter how tough the world is as long as you have people supporting you you can make it through anything. and you know what for all the people who have had their games insulted, who have been told they suck at scratch. well you know what, you may be bad at programming or stuff like that, but think about this, everyone has been bad at something at some point, people aren't born great, people are made great by never giving up and working hard. look at me, im an ok programmer, but i started out programming simple games where all you could do was move a car left to right, don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do something because you always can and if you try then you will!
I believe in the Scratch community, I believe that I can be mature and make good decisions that will help out scratchers, I believe that I should be the NEW TEXT BASED GAMES MODERATOR!

I don't think the post count will go down. The Scratch Team would have to do it manually if they wanted to make the post counts go down...
