the first like 2 or 3 seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh were awesome! but when the original Yugi died/disappeared or w.e it all went downhill

Yu-gi-oh 5 D Is horrible and really confusing so i only watched like 2 episodes when i was bored xD

They both went downhill.
Especially Yu-Gi-Oh. It defied gravity and all laws of life and death.
Pokemon just died as an anime, but as a game series, it's still somewhat alive.
Therefore, Pokemon.

Okay, back on topic:
I actually enjoy both series, I watched both of them growing up. While I like both, I'm more on the Yu-Gi-Oh! side than the Pokemon side, both in terms of the card game and the anime series - I found the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game and anime more entertaining.
(Note here, however, that, when I talk about the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, I am not referring to the spin-off Yu-Gi-Oh! series GX and 5Ds. I really just didn't like GX, and while 5Ds has am interesting utopia-dystopia theme, it just doesn't seem to catch my interest as the original Duel Monsters series once did.)
It's not to say I don't enjoy Pokemon anymore, some of my friends and I still have fun with Pokemon paraphernalia, especially the hand-held games. The Pokemon games I find to be more interesting than the Yu-Gi-Oh! ones (most of them didn't quite follow the original plot, or just divulged from it completely up to the point, where certain things just didn't make sense anymore. And I prefer playing a card game with an opponent face-to-face rather than over a digital screen).
Hmm, I guess the side I join depends on the nature of the subject. 
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your life is at ease

I judge on anime and games, but not card games.
The Yu-Gi-Oh games were really bad, while the Pokemon series stayed strong.
The anime's for both went downhill after the first season, but I can still somewhat bear Pokemon. Yu-Gi-Oh, I can't even watch anymore.

Yugioh the first season was really entertaining because it didnt follow the rules at all xD but it got bad after I missed a few eps in that oricalcos thing and then capsule monsters was horrible
GX got boring when they introduced the fake god cards
5d's just sucks. end of story.
pokemon season 1 was good, but ash sounded girly and the battles were so lame, like bulbasaur just moved out of the way of an attack and hit it with vine whip to KO the other pokemon. then the show started sucking after the 3rd movie
pokemon the movie and pokemon 2000 were the only good ones
so its 1-1 right now
ok trading card games
yugioh TCG- fun, and easy to play, and its a challenge
pokemon TCG- *? how do we even play this? it's lame
1-2 yugiohs in the lead
now for the cards
yugioh cards look better then pokemon cards
pokemon looks more kid oriented while yugiohs for preteens and stuff
example: pokemon card
seriously, this was like the most menacing looking pokemon card i could find
yugioh card
too many to choose from
so I chose a really ugly one that could be considered scary

You need to feed pokemon, but Yugioh monsters are just cards.
